Nothing to see here, folks. That crazy old cook Paul is unelectable, so that's why I'm going for Newt!!!

:(

It is BIZARRE that Ron's numbers against Obama are so high nationally and yet he can hardly get 10% from midwestern Republican electorate which is supposedly trying to BEAT Obama... Such a farce!

Paul and Romney both lose by 2 points, however Paul does keep Obama lower at 43% compared to 45%. Paul keeps Obama the further from the 50% mark and definitely polls the best against Obama in successive polls from these guys. The campaign and us need to shout these numbers from the freaking rooftops. Use THIS as your primary debate subject with the "Anyone but Obama" Crowd. This should be our primary weapon.

Meh, we don't elect our president by popular vote. Paul is close enough that he would probably win against Obama.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Paul would beat Obama. Why? Because he does as good as he's doing now with no real media coverage, and when he is covered it's nothing but hit pieces. If it came down to him and Obama, people would hear his message and it would be over.

This means Ron Paul does the BEST against Obama, since he holds Obama down the most at 43% and is also in the same margin as Romney.. ;)

He never does them this close together. He didn't like that his last one had Ron winning, particularly since he was the only one.

This fact makes me think Ron Paul would do much better as a third party candidate. The disaffected from both parties unite!

No then the 'third party can't win' syndrome will compound the 'he's unelectable' problem.

the media say he can't win, not that he polls best against Obama of all of them. They have NO CLUE he polls best.

I would argue that Ron Paul winning the Republican nomination is MUCH more of a challenge than changing the third-party-can't-win mentality.

Read the "Vote Flipping" thread. Understand it, it's important.

Well I personally would support a third party run if he doesn't get the nomination. Because its not a matter of 'taking down Obama' its a matter of saving America. If no candidate offers the future of America then someone must, and I think that must be Paul.

This what I keep telling my friends. If Ron were to win the GOP nomination, the election would be a landslide! And not only the Presidency, but the Senate and the House as well.

The apathetic would come out in droves. The highlanders would come down from the hills - lol. It would be an historic change in American History. Perhaps the most important event since the Civil War. But too many Republicans still allow themselves to be controlled by the media...

The poll obviously does not factor in the GOP Manipulation Factor.

Many Republicans favour another candidate or vote for someone else because they think he can't win (either the primary itself or the general election). But when asked if they would rather vote for Ron or for Obama they choose Ron.

And Ron of course attracts a ton of people who don't vote in a Republican primary, even if they could.
