And if he hadn't had a hoarde of Bimbo's start saying he wanted to touch their Ta Ta's, then he most likely would have been neck and neck for the nomination.

It also helps your legitimacy if you actually know the issues. I think the Judge has proved he has a bit of a grasp on this issues. He's not going to fling some 9.99 Pizza deal crap at the American public. To compare Cain to Napolitano is a bad comparison.

I mean. Come on. While I'm glad people are thinking big about who Rand Paul's running mate could be, I am going to just take a stab and say Rand would not choose Judge Nap. Judge Napolitano is a half truther, John Birch Society guy. Not too mention, he makes Rand look like a Communist. While none of these things are huge negatives for me or most people here, the other 98% of people in country probably aren't going to go for that.

Rand kind of cares about winning. There's a reason he just endorsed Mitch McConnell and Mitt Romney and it isn't so he can run for President with Andrew Napolitano.

I just made the leap that everyone gets that the Judge would do horribly in a Republican primary, esp with Rand in it.

Who cares? I mostly agree with Napolitano anyways, but I don't see why this is the biggest issue in the world.

Come to think of it, I'm not exactly sure what Ron Paul's position was on immigration.

I'd be wanting to hold the Judge off for a SCOTUS appointment, we seriously need someone with plenty of life left that is a true constitutionalist up there. Or better yet, Attorney General.

I voted yes but this is a valid counterargument. We need someone like Napolitano in the court. Rand is certainly more electable than Napolitano but Nap could definitely make Rand look less extreme by comparison. And besides, President Napolitano > President (Rand) Paul anyways.

Napolitano is about as mainstream as you can get when it comes to a pure Liberty candidate being on the MSM. Some tried to paint Ron as a 9/11 Truther too because he questioned the Commission and still has questions. It doesn't really matter. Also please back up any links to Nap being involved with or suggesting he is a Bircher, or is that just your take on him? Judge Napolitano cand also be described as Anti-War. Is he a Code Pinker?

Just because one holds particular views on a subject similar to a particular organization you are going to catogorize them as being such?

It would be very smart for Judge Napolitano to run for the GOP nomination, then drop out to endorse Rand just before the Iowa primary.

That sounds pretty good to me.

I didn't really mean for this to turn into a discussion about whether the judge should be Rand's VP pick. I just mentioned that as a possible plus. What I really wanted to know is whether you think it would be beneficial to the liberty movement and to Rand Paul to run for president.

I don't expect him to actually win. This would be more about spreading the message to even more people and gaining more supporters for our cause. We need somebody in the debates that is dedicated solely toward educating those who are still asleep, similar to both of Ron Paul's campaigns.

The judge would be able to say the things that Rand Paul won't be able to. Rand is taking the GOP insider approach to maintain his credibility with mainstream voters, so there will be a limit to what he can say in the debates. The Judge on the other hand will be in educational mode and won't have to worry as much about the consequences of his statements. And in the end it has the added benefit of aiding Rand when he eventually drops out to support him as the liberty candidate with the best chance to win Iowa.

This isn't about winning at all. It's about having a "Tell it how it is" Ron Paul type candidate to keep spreading the message.
