Rand tied for 4th in Iowa

Point me to Santorum's breakout debate performance... Oh yea he didn't have one. I do feel that making the debates is important, however, it is all about Iowa and NH. Grassroots is king. I don't see Rand dropping out regardless of debates. That is crazy. We need to hit Iowa and NH if not just for testing out GOTV effort since we had over 20 percent in those states in 2012. Deep breathe man, we are 5 months away from Iowa.

Santorum made his big moment by upsetting Romney with retail politics. For Rand to pull it out in Iowa, I would argue that he needs to use a combination of grassroots in the colleges where he is popular, and he needs to also take a page out of Santorum's 2012 playbook and do some serious retail politicking in Iowa's smaller towns. He needs to do a little better with the crowd over 40 in order to be competitive, and he also needs to make nice with the Evangelical crowd without angering his youth vote base. It will be a balancing act, but it is very possible.

Santorum's breakout performance was pure fiction by NPR and other complicit media. He didn't start rising in the polls until after they said he did. It was so bizarre.
