Rand suspends campaign

Filing deadlines are past in KY. He either had to go all in for president and concede the senate seat to an unopposed democrat, or focus on the senate seat now.

He chose wisely, as much as it sucks.

I'm on Rand's site nothing about suspension

Where is it

Update: Thank you video posted 4 min after I posted this

I think about the only endorsement I could stomach would be Carson. But there would be no reason to do so. I'm sure he'll just hold his endorsement for the nominee.

Or he could just burn it all down and go back to eye surgery.

Frankly I never expected to win. This was all about message to me. So it seems really fucked that Rand gave up his bully pulpit position as a potus candidate. I think everyone that donated knew that's what they were buying. Win or lose we could have rode along on the 5% train all the way to the general keeping the liberty narrative alive in the media.

Now... u casso; I got my balls in hand and thats about it.

I don't think he'll endorse Carson or Cruz or Rubio, or even Trump. He'll be just like Ron and endorse a 3rd party candidate.

I'm kinda glad for him. Now he can go home and relax a little. I'm sure this has been really hard on him. All that hard work. All the people that said they would vote for him and in the end, didn't. I'd be disappointed too. Iowa was his best chance. If it didn't happen in Iowa it wasn't gonna happen anywhere. It sucks, but the media still has complete control over who is elected.

People still actually believe in being consistent about adhering to the original intent of the Constitution. Cruz and Rubio are both ineligible to run.

This a billion times over. Neither one is eligible to run, at least Oblamo showed his BC.

Not really...now he can beat up on a democrat head 2 head and speak about it nationally.

I know he'll endorse the eventual GOP nominee, but I hope he stays quiet for now. I don't want to hear that he's endorsing Ted Cruz anytime soon. Or any of those morons, really.

Well it might not be a bad idea, other than Cruz is hated by the establishment GOP. FOX was just talking about how Ron Paul had over 20% of the New Hampshire vote last time around, while Rand is around 2%. An election analyst said the libertarian vote in New Hampshire is going to Cruz over Paul and Cruz will probably gain from Paul's exit. Hell, why not go all in for Cruz then? Maybe a cabinet position? Vice President?

Like it or not he is most in line with Cruz (or rather, Cruz more in line with Rand) so my guess is he either endorses Cruz or he endorses no one.

My inkling is that he endorses no one especially with how hard he was hitting Cruz near the end there.

Either way, this news only helps Cruz. I'd say most of Paul's support will go straight to him. Including me. I'm not nearly as distrustful of Cruz as everyone else is here. I'm totally on board with is domestic plan. Not a fan of foriegn policy at all but frankly, I'm more concerned about the death of Capitalism and the rise of Socialism.

And with that, I'm probably outta here since I know just how much this board hates Cruz, haha.

I'm 100% with you here.

I'd definitely vote Cruz. The reality is you can only vote based on the options you have. Rand isn't the perfect candidate for me (for example being in finance I find his monetary policy crusade a little perplexing), but he is by far the best. Now with him out I have to move to the next best.

Cruz is far down that list, but he is the next best. Economic matters mean a lot more to me than anything else. I'll stomach social conservatism and warmongering for more free markets. I understand others may care less about free markets and prioritize social issues or foreign policy and hence may go to Sanders. I get it, but that isn't me. My main issue, by far, is capitalism.

So Cruz it is. And honestly I would love it if he made a deal with Rand. It makes sense for Cruz as it should help him in the general big time and solidify that wing in the primaries. And it helps Paul because Cruz is frankly the closest to him. It helps us if he can be nominated for VP. Win, win, win. That would be the best case scenario.

Fuck Cruz, might as well vote for Rubio.

Remember the president doesn't legislate. Well apart from executive orders... Cruz isn't going to repeal any. He'll gladly use the power to create a number of them himself.

If Cruz gets the nomination then.. No conservative challenge in 2020 and very little chance at getting the nomination in 2024. So BAD IDEA.
