Rand Paul's Vaccine comments expose his greatest Weakness as a Presidential Candidate

On Monday, likely 2016 presidential candidate Rand Paul stuck his foot in his mouth on, of all issues, vaccinations. Despite zero credible evidence that vaccines cause autism, Paul said that he'd heard of "many tragic cases of walking, talking normal children who wound up with profound mental disorders after vaccines."

This is pretty shocking stuff, even on a day when other politicians were busy saying embarrassing things about vaccines. But it tells us a lot about the biggest hurdle to Paul if he decides he wants to win the 2016 Republican primary — Rand Paul.

Paul's Achilles heel is his reputation in the Republican Party as an undisciplined ideologue, a candidate more concerned with libertarian purity than winning national elections. So on days like Tuesday, when he pops off on TV, it seems like he can't help himself from risking confirming the GOP's worst fears about him.

Rand Paul's vaccine comments hurt him where he's most vulnerable

Great move--scare the mainstream GOP voters--does not help in national elections.

LOL...when it comes to supporting Randal? I guess you haven't met LE yet, have you?

I will vote for Rand and get what he is saying but your average GOP voter will get scared by his vax comments.

Who is LE?

Wow, doesn't this just bespeak the level of brainwashing we have? Paul can't even say how he heard stories about kids who got autism and we're automatically accusing him of the treasonous thought crime of questioning the validity of vaccines.

It just can't get any clearer than this. We are so brainwashed it's not even funny.

Randal said nothing of autism.

Right, whatever. My point stands.

It does and its a good point. However, an even better point might be that this entire interview only went viral of sorts because Randal got upset about the host continually mischaracterizing and outright lying and he called her on it.

So what happens as a result? The media follows it up by outright lying and mischaracterizing what he said in that interview x100. lol

I am over 60 so I am not that
sharp on this stuff

Was a Union man and Dem for years but I am independent now and like Rand.

You like Rand and Liz Warren dont you! She is the polar opposite of Rand by the way.
