I'm just curious how the Ron Paul supporters here feel about him.

Personally, I feel he's too far on the right and not concerned enough about civil liberties. Like Ron Paul, he's an adamant supporter of states' rights, but places too much emphasis in them and not enough in his own personal opinions about the issues.

I'd still vote for him though; he's a lot better than most of what we have.

I certainly won't just vote for him because he is the son of Ron. I admire his willingness to fight the NDAA and I look forward to seeing what he'll do in 2016.

I suppose as a U.S senator there's just some things he has to do. A lot more spotlight, but it would be nice if he voted like Ron and took time to educate the pundits/people on the role of constitutional government.

yeah, I think he has a load of good points simply because his dad taught him. but he is a bit of a player and compromiser. not as bad as others but the free market shall put his name to the test and he might not be the one that comes up.

"Rand understands the way this game is played."

I'm a Rand fan. Rand Paul has transformed Kentucky politics and ignited a firestorm of grassroots fiscal conservatism.

For all of the times I disagree with him on certain things (Iran central bank sanctions, not advocating for the end of entitlements but arguing to "save" them), there have been an equal number of times where I have seen him change the debate or set the bar even higher.

My own personal opinion is that the Liberty movement needs the Rand Pauls just as much as the Ron Pauls right now.

sanctions on Iran = act of war. It doesn't matter he added an amendment that said basically 'this act of war is no way to be costrued as an act of war'. I'll never vote for him. I'm done EVER voting lesser of two evils. Draft and run Judge Nap please.

Lesser of two evils? What a joke

He has done quite a bit and is therefore useful for the liberty movement, but I do not see him as actually being a part of it.

I tend to have mixed feelings about him. As was previously said, he is more inclined to play the GOP's silly games than is his father, and that diminishes his stature in my opinion.

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the RON PAUL STANDARD, I would have to score Rand as 8....not as good as his Dad, but still better than most out there.
