The Kentucky GOP state convention voted yesterday on the delegates for the national convention:

" [...] Kentucky Republicans selected a group of 25 national delegates Saturday, dominated by top party leaders and insiders. [...]

Topping the list of Kentucky delegates picked Saturday were Gov. Matt Bevin, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Sen. Rand Paul, after being selected by a small group of party leaders led by former Republican National Committee Chairman Mike Duncan.

These delegates will be bound on the first ballot -- but free to support whomever they like after that. [...]"

Wonder who they would go for on a second ballot? I'd guess Rand and Bevin to Cruz, maybe McConnell too, unless Ryan's name was thrown in.

You really think Rand would support Cruz now? If I'm Rand I'm nominating myself and voting for myself.

Wonder who they would go for on a second ballot? . . .

Cruz will lose some of the total 15 KY delegates bound to him on the second round, as well as Trump dropping from 17 KY delegates . . .
Rubio and Kasich both 7 KY delegates might be the ones to gain (?)

Ehhh... they put Paul and Bevin at the head of the list to dampen opposition. The slate was completely establishment - all the people who usually go, not supporters of any candidate. Massie is a delegate from one of the districts liberty people actually won.

Thats pretty silly to say that they were merely chosen as a way to "dampen opposition", Rand is the state's US senator, he has just the same amount of chance as being a delegate as Mitch Mcconnell does. Bevin made it on the slate because he is the governor.

The slates are always going to be establishment until you work your way either into the party where you'll be hand-selected or fight your way in via conventions.

I participate in conventions, and have supported continuing to elect delegates after Rand suspended. Just letting folks know the establishment won the state convention, and this was their slate. They put Rand, Bevin and Hampton on so as not to face an uprising, but otherwise these are lobbyists or loyal McConnell sycophants... not even Trump or Cruz people. Liberty folks did win the 4th District though.
