Rand Paul, Taking up his dad's Mantle

I'm not happy with Rand.I'm not completely throwing him under the bus just yet.I WILL NOT support a Romney/Rand ticket though. We will just have to wait and see what all Rand does in the future.

As for the liberty movement going neocon.Don't believe it.We all know where Ron Paul stands on the issues and we know why we support him.All we have to do is support the candidates that have the same views. Most of the time we will probably be voting libertarian because that is Ron Pauls beliefs.Always look for the candidate with the same beliefs as Dr. Paul whether Dem,Rep or Libertarian. As of now I know which Republicans and Libertarians I will be voting for in my state.

Stay the course. We know what we believe.

Rand has been put on our "liberty watch list".

I won't be donating to any more Paul money bombs until Ron clarifies his position on Rand's sellout.

I'll support Rand Paul in 2016. The haters can have their convention at the local Olive Garden and whomever they elect can wear a Burger King crown for a day.

Barring some significant changes in his demeanor, I won't. He's always pandered too much for my taste. I understand that many of you are acquiescing to the idea that 'playing the game' is the only way to win. But that's nothing more, or less, than a concession to defeat. It's admitting that there is no hope for honest leadership in politics. If that's true, we're screwed either way. I won't sign on for the sinking.

This.

The haters will look for any excuse. And after Ron retires, they'll never again have a candidate to support who has a prayer of being president.
Until I discovered Ron Paul, I never really had a candidate to support before. Sure, I always voted, but I never really embraced everything my candidate stood for until Dr. Paul. So I'm just back to where I was before 2007.

Ron is the real deal, and I've learned so much from that man in the past 5+ years.

One thing I learned is to never again compromise my true principles.

Rand showed us who he really is last night. He sold out.

Yeah, that pretty much crosses him off my list going forward.

Wow, just listen to yourselves!

You guys sure gave up your core values easily. Just win baby.

No...I'd rather lose every election knowing I can still sleep at night than win wondering how much I sold out.

Anyone think that Rand consulted with Ron prior to the endorsement? Anyone think that Ron suggested that Rand endorse Romney?

His votes will tell us if he sold out. Rather than doing what he had to do if he hoped to ever get liberty legislation passed in the Senate.

Watch this. It's the latest from Jack Hunter.

This isn't exactly surprising if you've been paying attention. Read the words of Jack Hunter in my signature.

Rand would have let him know... Ron would have said 'no' or tried to talk him out of it. Rand went ahead and did it anyway. That's my guess.

Over his dead body would he have suggested that Rand endorse Romney.

Bullshit.

Ron knows their roles are different.

lets be logical. some of us want to go third party but others of us respect ron paul's call to transform the gop from the inside out.

Transforming the GOP cannot be done. The GOP is a lost cause. After 20 plus years in congress, Paul's ideas have gotten no where. Wake up people, it's the freaking system. That is the problem and a third party by the people is the only option to bring real change. We must squat our liberty message on the Indy Party. It's where the masses are at. The party has no leader and no platform. It can be ours. No fighting the establishment is required. No one getting beat up and arrested is needed. Watch the people rise up and join the revolution. The establishment cannot co-opt a party like a message withing a party i.e. tea party, OWS, etc.

this was from 2008....he's mentioned several times about the 2 party system...pretty sure he'd be a third party candidate if he had a shot in hell, even more so than now..

Yeah, we're haters for refusing to support someone who voted for an unConstitutional act of war (sanctions against Iran). His Amendment that said basically 'this act of war is not to be construed as an act of war' is Orwellian doublethink and in no way changes that sanctions are an act of war, and because no war was delcared, it's unConstitutional!

We're haters? No, we're not in a cult of personality, a neoptism circle jerk, and we hold principles over a last name. He's half-a-libertarian, and doesn't deserve our support. He violated the Constitution in term 1.

from what I'm hearing, its y'all that will need to convene at the local Olive Garden... and you won't even need that... I think y'all will have more than enough room at your Little Caesar's pizzeria..

Rand Paul is not a libertarian, he is a conservative. To expect him to be 'just like dad' was too much to assume. I feel no ill will for his decision to endorse Romney, as he will have to wear this endorsement after sideburns does a bang up job in office. Ron Paul is still the leader of this movement for a long time to come...in the most important ways he has become more powerful than the Presidency. This is all that matters.

Rand will do great things, but lets not get disillusioned that he is Ron Paul; two different individuals.
