I thought this thread would give this place some positive vibes. Big fan of State Radio & Dispatch myself

To try to help you get to know the 2016 presidential candidates better, FOX411 is trying to ask every each candidate his or her favorite musician, movie and TV show.

Rand Paul had a hard time narrowing down his favorite film but he ended up picking "Enemy of the State" starring Will Smith.

It was an easier choice for Paul when it come to his top TV show. "'John Adams,' David McCullough's 'John Adams' series."

In terms of his musical preferences, Paul said, "Right now I'm really big into the State Radio. I love that song called 'All Crows.'"

Not bad, but he should have chosen "Wag the Dog" from one year earlier.

interesting that Enemy of the state was made in 1998, 3 years before the patriot act

Enemy of the State was a great answer. Really good movie and more relevant now than it was when it came out.

Not sure if he already does but he should reference it and recommend it to the audience when talking about NSA spying on the campaign trail. Help relate it to the crowd and their distrust of government to overcome the fear propaganda they've been fed.

Watched "Enemy of the State" & "Wag the Dog" this weekend. Awesome!

Cant believe I hadn't watched these movies yet!

"Enemy" is a great film with an all star cast, including comedians Jack Black, Seth Green and Jamie Kennedy alongside actors Will Smith, Gene Hackman and John Voight. A perfect combination of fact and fiction makes the storyline incredibly believable. Mostly fact, very little fiction...

"Wag" is also packed full of blockbuster stars. Hoffman, DeNiro, Heche, Leary, Dunst, Harrelson, Macy and even Willie Nelson! Though filmed in a lighthearted way, the underlying theme is none the less serious.

Thank you for bringing these films to my attention!
they are perfect companions to "They Live!".

Liberty I say!
RAND PAUL 2016

Davick Icke discussess the relevance of "Wag the Dog" in today's world. Short story: this movie is more relevant today than it ever was.

Long time lurker here, I thought it was so cool that Rand likes State Radio that I had to sign up!

I actually have had one of their albums uploaded on my YouTube page for over a year.

Rand has good taste. :D

Terrible Film and TV choices. Enemy of the State was an entertaining enough flick, but even if we limit ourselves to eavesdropping themed Gene Hackman movies, it fails in the face of the vastly superior The Conversation. And John Adams? Total snoozefest of a series. What about The Shield, or Deadwood, or Rome, or Breaking Bad, or Les Revenants. I could understand if he wanted to pick a classic from his youth like The Rockford Files or Magnum, PI or something, but he picks a relatively modern series that quite simply wasn't that good. And if you wanted some "clever" politically themed answer, The Prisoner would have been the correct choice.

My conclusion from all this is that Rand simply doesn't have very good taste in film or television, and that could be at the root of his current campaign woes because it would explain why he has such a hard time reading the electorate and dealing with the media.

Lol. Or he has different tastes than you.

What does his pick of State Radio say about his political campaign? The lead signer of that band is one of the members of Dispatch. A socialist-leaning band that mostly focuses their politics towards charity in Africa.

Rand is a secret Socialist and this will hurt him in the primary election.

Leave it to RPF to make a light-hearted thread serious.

It says that Rand wasn't exposed to a lot of lame ass reggae bands while he was growing up and is at a relatively late age undergoing a phase most of us outgrow by the time we are 18. I'm essentially giving him a pass on the bad musical taste. But the Film and TV stuff is inexcusable. And it is not just me. Have you ever heard anyone cite John Adams as their all time favorite TV series. Not even the creators of John Adams would dare make such a suggestion for fear of being laughed out of the room.

The electorate is made up of subhuman savages who watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

I vaguely remember the John Adams series. I thought it was solid. I remember it being like a Ken Burns type series but with acting.

And BTW, Ron Paul said Gone with The Wind is favorite movie.
