Well, of course not. The simple fact that he didn't get the cover to himself is, in and of itself, a smear. Think about it. This is Time--the self-crowned kings of subtle propaganda.

Look, they know they've lost this round, and all they have to do is paint us as typical Republicans and let the neocon policies fail as badly as the Democratic policies. Then the public will throw our baby out with the bathwater neocons. And they're trying to set that up right now, while people are still paying a little attention.

Too simple and completely unsurprising. Also, I hope, uninspiring. Fewer and fewer people are paying attention to Time these days, thank God.

I read the article at work today. The section about Rand was pretty good. It made Rand out to be the real deal, someone who will actually work to make significant cuts in spending.
