Rand Paul on CBS This Morning: Trump a Fake Conservative

Great Interview. Stayed on message by saying gov't should be out of the marriage business, didn't let the anchors place him in an "either/or" box on the issue, and when they couldn't get a rise out of him, they moved on.

The CBS reporter "but there are only two options"

Damn media can not ask a question and have the Senator from Capitol Hill answer fully without interrupting.

But Rand comes across with the most intelligent response when left to speak . . . as usual.

Rand did great. I think if he makes another attack ad on Trump he needs to highlight Trump's support of eminent domain. Maybe even in the debate bring it up and tell the people how he took an old lady's house to turn into a parking lot, while contrasting that he's always been against such government actions. I think this would hurt Trump badly among whatever support he's getting from the older crowd while also causing those that believe he's somehow anti establishment to question his true intentions.

Rand needs to focus on his message and his Presidency, not Trump. He needs more surrogates doing interviews and appearances. I know many Republicans/Tea Party and they agree Rand needs his message, and guess what else they have seen the Rand Paul brochure and they think Rand needs to do that not worry about Trump.

Rand answers the question about Trump and the RNC Pledge thingy . . .

He is the most interesting person in politics - still - if the reporters let him finish his sentence.

Glad to see he's back on Capitol Hill - back to work for the constituents of the state of Kentucky already.
A pretty successful August break imo -
help save some Haitians eyesight with the University of Utah mission,
and gets the Kentucky Presidential caucus in March with the GOP Senate primary in May.

Is the issue of eminent domain the best line of attack that Rand has on Trump?

Theoretically, I agree. As a practical matter, the only things he has said that I have seen the mainstream mafia cover, he said about Trump. So is this reality or perception that he spends all his time talking about the clown?

I think the fact that he's a RINO, his flip flops, and the fact that 'Mr. Anti-Establishment' is the guy who has paying Congress to screw us, all got Rand more traction than that.
