Rand Paul interview w/ Jonathan Karl of ABC News, 11/19/12

Hmmm, a lot of this sounds like what the Ron Paul people were very interested in this past cycle. Imagine what Romney and the GOP might have done had they harnessed that group's enthusiasm....

...

I'm not usually the one to ask this...
What is he wearing?
It's one thing to be out stumping on the campaign trail or home in Kentucky, but I don't think you want to be less dressed than the person interviewing you while walking around the capitol building.

Rand is trying really hard to please the Fox News crowd while at the same time giving a wink and a nod to the rest of us. It worked in Kentucky, a national race will be a different ball game though.

"A GOP Plan for 2016: Pot, immigration and defense cuts". we need to rework that into a palindrome, then nobody can stop us!

It at least looks like he'll be at the forefront of trying to change the GOP plan and message for the better. Hopefully he doesn't get swindled and sidelined IF he does decide to run, but that may be wishful thinking.

the media will be trying to paint him as a birkenstock-wearing, hippie isolationist in 2016 I fear.

As a general rule, politicians and celebrities avoid standing next to someone who is taller then themselves for pictures or videos.

The pandering to the hispanic demographic just turns my stomach. WHY do we HAVE to make it easy for law breakers to 'get legal'? The only way I would agree with a path to citizenship for the illegals already here is if ALL free shit is stopped. You want to be a citizen of the US so bad? Well, then you can have your path to citizenship (which you trampled over others that decided to play by the rules), you'll just have to do it without financing it with my taxdollars.

How do you feel about pardoing people convicted of breaking victimless or unconstitutional laws?

Ah... See, I won't fall so easily into that trap as I don't subscribe to that particular tenet of Libertarianism. Call me ultra-nationalistic if you wish, but I firmly believe in borders.
