Rand Paul handling business on CNN right now (video added)

how closely did you watch Ron's career back in the 70's when he was getting started?

I think that people are naive to think that two individuals seperated by a generation can be supplanted without differences. Trust has to be earned. Rand is a good spokesman, but he is not his father. It should be insulting to them to act like they do not have a right to be respected for their individual opinions. From a libertarian position just because they share a family relationship does not make them carbon copies. Judge the individual without making assumptions. Good thing for Rand is we can believe that he has good roots based upon the record his father has provided.

I didn't see this but it sounds like Ron didn't answer properly as he did in Friday night's debate. The answer is: "Oh thanks for bringing that up. Let's look at my VOTING record and the VOTING records of my opponents and see who the racists are. Let's see Gingrich wants to execute drug dealers. Have you seen the demographic breakdowns on actual drug dealers vs convicted drug dealers vs sentenced convicted drug dealers?..."

How could he have missed this? This should now be his favorite softball pitch to unload on. I'd almost say that he should bring it up before they do. It was his longest home run on Friday night. Murdoch tweeted about it (which makes me wonder). But really, you mean he didn't score points with it this time like Friday night??

I just noticed that this was a Rand-only interview. For some reason I thought Ron was there too. In that case, Rand is in a pickle when they hit him with his dad's racist newsletters because with Rand's stealthy pander-to-the-right-wing-war-monger positions he can't logically start talking about the racist drug war. So, he's kind of defenseless on this. Oh well, such are the dilemmas of not being intellectually and morally pure...But Ron from his high moral ground position can use this to pummel the opposition.

CNN has really been discrediting itself. At this point, it will be extremely difficult for them to ever gain back their credibility.

They don't have any credibility. They don't need any credibility. All they need is a lot of stupid people to watch their commercials and be convinced to have the taxpayer, via Medicare, pay for some new crazy drug being advertised.

That's all they need. And they've got that. So they're all good.

Rand Paul did very well combating the media drive to paint Dr. Paul as a racists.

Rand looks said at the very beginning and at the very end of the interview. Please pass along to him to beam a confidence inspiring radiant smile, helps on TV. All other guests were grinning before the interview started. Rand looked like he did not want to be there (I guess Soledad told him that she will talk about CRA)

I have such high respect for Senator Rand, I can't imagine having to be in his place. He will be president one day soon.

Soledad acted like she's on crank... besides the constant assassination attempts by CNN, CNN should just go and pump their 2 special establishment authorized candidates.

All they do is take up time and air.

Huntsman/Santorum CNN Circus... I still would like to see who the hell put the video up and immediately sent it to Huntsman klan to refer. It would be very easy to get that info.

shes not getting it. its above her head. She doesnt understand......

Thats cuz all she gives a shit about is how long people talk before she has to go to break.

You know, it is really interesting to me to see all of these national media talking heads being filmed in spontaneous situations that aren't heavily scripted or involve them being on some kind of teleprompter. Now you see why they NEED the damned teleprompters.

It shows you that none of them... NONE of them... are thinking for themselves. And none of them really seem interested in finding a story.

Rand forgot the easiest rebuttal to the CRA:

Repeal the laws that forced segregation.

Agreed. I don't understand why he just doesn't say 'Segregation was a result of the Jim Crow laws, which was government telling businesses they couldn't integrate their facilities. Ron Paul has always been against the state imposing segregation and would have voted to repeal the Jim Crow laws. He was only against the provisions of the CRA which violated private property rights."

I have a lot of patience but if people were asking me questions and interrupting me as much as they were Rand, I would snap.

Yup. States had absolutely no right to deprive anyone of civil liberties guaranteed by the Constitution. The federal government was 100-percent correct to step in to stop the states from discriminating. Everyone agrees with that aspect of the Civil Rights Act, but almost no one actually makes that distinction. The problem with CRA '64 is Title II, which grants power to the federal government to make certain privately owned places "public"

Rand Paul has what it takes. He just demonstrated complete ownage at a very high level, that many men have tried and many men have failed.
