Rand Paul Gets Private Audience at Goldman Sachs

I hope he extols the virtues of free trade w/Cuba and Iran and N Korea and.... then tells them all to go and get real jobs because he won't have any for them in DC.

inb4 he sold out to Goldman Sachs for the nomination.

Let's get this out in the open right now. Politicians CAN NOT be trusted. They have proven time and time again that their words do not match their actions. Any other politician meeting with Goldman Sachs would cause a lot of suspicion for those of us here at RPF. The ONLY reason Rand Paul gets away with this is because of his dad. Plain and Simple. He gets the benefit of the doubt because of his dad RON PAUL. So the next time people go around spouting their loud obnoxious mouths about how he needs to distance himself from his dad, they need to be sent back to this tread.

Rand Paul doesn't get the benefit of the doubt because of his principled stand (not saying he isn't principled but he's only been in congress a few years) but because of his dad.

He got an "in" because of his dad, he gets the benefit of the doubt because of his great record in the Senate so far. He has not given me any reason not to trust him.

He might not get the benefit of the doubt because of his principled stands but he sure as hell should. He has earned it at this point.

And all he did was speak at Goldman Sachs. Ron Paul spoke at Google. This was not some super secret meeting. This was a politician, in a speaking series of politicians and celebrities, giving a talk.

Youre absolutely right.

Google is not the same as Goldman Sachs and you know that. Google doesn't have a history of buying out our politicians. Google hasn't been bailed out be the tax payers. Google doesn't have a long ass list of former executives serving in cabinets of Presidents. Goldman Sachs does. That may change in the future but as it stands now, Goldman Sachs is right up there with the MIC companies that are buying our government and corrupting our Republic.

When people talk about Obama and Bush being puppets, who would you say are the puppet masters? I would say Goldman Sachs would be high up on that list. If tomorrow Goldman Sachs decided to endorse Rand Paul and cut him a large check, I would be suspicious of Rand Paul no matter who his dad is.

Ron Paul had a track record of 40 ####ing years.

That is a huge umbrella Rand is standing under. A year and a half with some curious votes and a deep lack of solitary no votes is not equivalent.

We are all just assuming this is what his Dad would look like if his dad was playing to win. It is a big gamble.

Why wouldn't Rand visit with Goldman? Goldman vets everyone. Ive learned there are some realities to presidential politics and FP is a visit to Israel and Banking is a visit with GS. I don't "like" it but it's a reality of presidential politics. Ron dined with Fed officials for many years. It's not a sign of selling out. It's a sign of meeting with people to build or deny bridges. What was said is what matters.

Next stop Bilderberg?

Only if he said what GS wanted to hear.

We will get video of this meeting right? lol

It's awesome how you continuously strawman people on this website without reading the topics you post in. Did you not read this topic and see the debate over this? Unlike your liberal-ilk, we're not a hivemind around here.

I probably did say that when I was ignorant to the realities of politics. Doesn't affect principle though. If you oppose another's position, diplomacy demands you meet with them. Selling out principles is what can happen, or not happen, at that meeting. The meeting itself isn't a selling out.

You surely would be a shitty military officer, 56ktarget.

That's aside from Clinton's vast history and Obama's recent history that render your post a false comparison.
