Rand Paul endorsed Ted Cruz, but is he really our guy?

I also voted for Addison in that poll. And I jotted down a remark from a livestream re his wife, Heidi. Just tried to post a link to an article from "Dallas News", and Forum wouldn't allow it. (I'm too new to this Forum.) But you can do your own searching...

Addison has a slim chance of winning.

If I lived in Texas I would back Cruz. He has called the CFR a "pit of vipers". He also is tough on the Fed and opposed NDAA.

And that's very 'interesting' considering what I've just read about his wife, Heidi... Dallas News on Oct 27, 2011

What is the rift in support between Cruz/Addison like? It sounds comparable to Paul/Johnson.

I think Ted Cruz would be a good senator. He's not Ron Paul, but he is more than just talk. You can look and see the US Supreme court battles he's fought. And frankly, a vote for anyone else in the primary will just assure David Dewhurst gets the nod. And in case you've forgotten, David Dewhurst single handedly killed the anti-TSA bill in the Texas legislature last year. I've seen Dewhurst and the way he treats people, so my vote will go to Ted Cruz.

Why in God's name is Rand endorsing this guy? NOT A WORD on the dude's website about civil liberties, undeclared wars, or the Federal Reserve. I posted these comments on his website but it looks like it's getting censored. Rand disappoints me here. Ironically, I also got an endorsement email from Ron for a guy named Kurt Bills who is also running for Senate and, according to Ron's description, sounds like the real deal. Although Mr. Bills' website has NO information on his position on the issues. Why in God's name would someone reun for Senate and not have a link to their positions on the issues? Surreal...

^Thank you. Cruz website = Epic Fail. He sounds like just another establishment player for the most part. Shame on you, Rand.

this is suspicious. i heard him on glenn beck one day and he sounded great though. he was very aware of agenda 21 and was working to fight it

10) Rein in the Fed and Ensure Sound Money. Congress should pass Rep. Ron Paul’s bill to audit the Federal Reserve—so that it is subject to basic principles of accountability and transparency. We then should restrain the Fed’s “quantitative easing”—a fancy term for printing money—so that our currency isn’t further debased. Since 2008, gold has skyrocketed and the value of the dollar has plummeted creating a cruel tax on every consumer, saver, and investor. For long-term growth, we need sound money and a strong dollar.

I have interviewed Cruz before and heard him speak several times. He is a sound candidate. No, he does not agree on everything 100%. He is more socially conservative than I would like. However, he is legitimate candidate on fiscal issues, is not for nation-building, and is big on constitutional issues and the 10th Amendment. This article gives a good foundation: http://www.tedcruz.org/in-the-news/2011/10/07/national-review-as-good-as-it-gets/

Take a look- he is running in Texas. You want talk of wars, Patriot Act, and other libertarian talking points? Someone tried that running for Senate in 1984 named Ron Paul.

Ron Paul lost with less than 1/4 of the vote.

Anyone see the Belo Senate debate tonight? It was only an hour, but I missed it. Wondering if it will pop up on the internet.

I've heard Ted Cruz address this. He says that he doesn't have an issues page because talk is cheap. He has pages of what he's done; battles fought in the supreme court, cases he's taken, etc.

What really should have your attention is that a year ago, there were several other conservative candidates for the senate. Dewhurst's people have managed to run off all his major opponents EXCEPT Ted Cruz. That alone should tell you that Ted Cruz is a man of integrity.

If you want perfection, write in Jesus. As for me, I'll gladly vote for Ted Cruz.

When RON Paul endorses him, then I'll consider him. Otherwise, he's just another statist.
