Rand Paul can’t believe he’s losing to this guy: ‘This whole thing with Trump is insane’

He criticized Trump's insulting remarks about immigrants? What a cuckservative!

Rand is out of touch with the electorate.

The electorate is out of touch with right and wrong. Hopefully Rand can help bring more people around to support freedom like his dad did. If he fails, then at least he stuck to his principles instead of pandering to the statists.

There's nothing statist about enforcing immigration laws. Ron Paul sure supported them. Even calling for ending immigration from Muslim nations.

It is a hit piece and that is why it was posted. How many times was the size of the crowd mentioned.

Breaking immigration laws is about liberty. Rest assured you're not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

And who is? A Trump supporter?

It seems to me people's desire to come here is related to "here" having more liberty. But instead of dealing with the imbalances that are creating negative liberty where they came from we'd rather create less liberty here to destroy the incentive. Eventually when the whole world is fascist everyone will stay where they are because tyranny will be ubiquitous.

Of course people need to follow the immigration laws, but that isn't why we're talking about immigration.

We're talking about immigration because that's why those that support Trump think the nation is in a shithole. That's why I fight the narrative. Because it's a false narrative that only attempts to justify an ignorant xenophobic mentality about societal problems.

But even for a hit piece they can't help making Rand look good. Being disliked by Raw Story is not a bad thing for a Republican primary candidate.

Why is Trump getting so much support over Rand? Well it really comes down to a single issue.

Radically changing demographics in America.
Trump solution: Throw them out, build a wall.
Rand solution: Convince them to be good libertarians.

We all see the kinds of people that are elected down south, and the kinds of policies they favor. We see in places like California just how liberal these minority groups really are. California is now un-winnable for Republicans or anyone who tries free market rhetoric.

I'm not gonna lie, Trump's solution is a lot more pragmatic, a lot less idealistic. I wish Rand came out with some strong border rhetoric. On the "issues" section of his website, his plan sounds really good. Secure the border, track visas, all that. But when he talks about it, his stance sounds so weak that I doubt anyone really believes he's going to follow through.

From Rand's campaign website:
"As President, I would implement my “Trust but Verify” plan and put pressure on the Department of Homeland Security to finally follow through on the broken promise of a secure border and an effective visa tracking system."

Put pressure??? He's going to "put pressure". Well really, that's just not good enough. Notice how Trump's website only has ONE issue: immigration. This is the only reason, in the end, that anyone is backing him. The immigration problem has gotten to such a climactic fever pitch that it's turned huge swaths of America into single issue voters.

Here's Trump:
A nation without borders is not a nation. There must be a wall across the southern border.
Make Mexico Pay For The Wall
Mandatory return of all criminal aliens.
Detention—not catch-and-release.
End birthright citizenship.

Now does anyone NOT believe Trump is going to follow through? Now you see why he has so much support. He's a terrible public speaker, has horrible plans for a trade war. Is horrible with the military. Has a horrible record on social issues. Loves entitlements. Is a flip flopper. Etc... But he's going to stop immigration, and that's enough for a majority of voters.

After Rand Trump is my second choice because he's actually taking a chainsaw to the establishment

Because if the invasion from south of the border is not stopped the rest of the country will be like California. Like you said. Unwinnable for anyone who supports free market capitalism
