Rand Paul Accuses Kentucky Governor of Acting Like a Dictator

You must not be paying attention then. I'm not the one cheering on the possibility of MARTIAL LAW. That was you. Replacing one brand of tyranny with another is not freedom.
U.S. Constitution - Article 4 Section 4
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government...

https://usconstitution.net/xconst_A4Sec4.html

Martial Law is only a transition to a restored Republic in the state.

Stop being pathetic.

That would be you, the one opposing the overthrow of a tyrant and the restoration of the rule of law.
Your cover is slipping.

Except I've been vociferously ADVOCATING resistance and defiance of these fascist lockdowns rigt from the beginning. And engaging in same myself. While you've been what? bashing libertarians on RPF and begging the state to allow you to be "free"? Pathetic.

I've been advocating resistance and defiance all along and not just preaching to the choir here.

But the people do not have the power to restore a Republican form of government even if they can pressure the tyrants to end certain tyrannical actions, they would be crushed if they tried.
The Feds have the power and the duty to crush these tyrants and restore a Republican form of government and you seem to object to that happening for some strange reason.
The Founding Fathers appealed to the King to overrule the tyranny and usurpation of Parliament, we should take their example to heart, no method of fighting for liberty should be shunned...............................UNLESS your goal is to prevent any actual progress towards liberty.

Great! That way Trump can implement red flag laws in the states that haven't done so already. Good job! Here's a better idea. The local sheriffs that don't agree with the governors orders can simply not enforce them.

Funny, but one little salon owner in Texas did more to restore the republic than you or Trump. And all she did was not shut her shop down.

The 9th and 10th of the BOA is crystal clear. The problem is most people are ignorant to these guidelines.

Civil Disobedience is the only way to try and open people's eyes.

Yep. That's what happened in Texas. That model should be replicated.

Funny, but one little salon owner in Texas did more to restore the republic than you or Trump. And all she did was not shut her shop down.

She is irrelevant to this conversation, and she had to have help from those in power, the Texas Supreme Court for example.
We should appeal to those with power, like Trump.

LOL
Trump is not going to implement any Red Flag laws and the Governor will if a Republican form of government is not restored.
Get all the Sheriffs you want to defy the governor, nobody said not to do other things, but not all Sheriffs will do their duty and it is a Federal duty to overthrow these tyrants and restore Republican government.

She didn't have help until after she engaged in civil disobedience. The outcry over her treatment is what caused the Governor, Lt Governor and Texas Supreme Court to act.

I appeal to Trump to keep his hands off the 2nd amendment. He has shown he cannot be trusted with martial law. He hasn't even had the guts to #firefauci. And when Georgia announced it was opening up, Trump attacked the governor for extending the re-open to salons. Under Trump's advice the salon owner in Texas still wouldn't have been allowed to open. And that is who you want people to appeal to? The Apostle Paul was told he would not escape Rome if he appealed to Ceaser. He did so anyway. He ended up beheaded for his troubles.

Yeah...just like he's not going to implement a bumpfire stock ban....oh wait.

Has anyone (INCLUDING TRUMP) said not to engage in civil disobedience?

Trump has only issued ADVICE, no mandates. And he has also warned (along with his AG) that governors should not violate the rights of their citizens, guns have nothing to do with this and Trump is not going to take any guns.
Paul is irrelevant.

Yeah...just like he's not going to implement a bumpfire stock ban....oh wait.
Anything he may do he will do or not whether he overthrows the tyrant governors or not.
You love to bring up irrelevancies when you are losing the argument.

You said what the salon owner did was irrelevant. I happen to disagree.

I don't think bringing up abuses of the constitution by the man you are wanting to implement martial law is irrelevant.

Interestingly enough the same Rand Paul who rejects the idea that the governor of KY has absolute power of his citizens has also rejected the idea that Donald Trump has absolute power over the states.

https://www.alternet.org/2020/04/ra...-trumps-claim-of-total-authority-over-states/

And again, Trump spoke against the governor of Georgia allowing salons to re-open.
Nobody said trump has absolute power over the states, but he does have the power and the duty to restore a Republican form of government.
And Trump gave an OPINION about Georgia, meanwhile he spoke out in favor of the protestors in Michigan, the same protestors Amash criticized.

They are irrelevant because they do not have to do with the issue of state governors taking absolute dictatorial powers and implementing Martial Law.
If Trump imposes Martial Law in order to restore a Republican form of government on a state that is already in Martial Law under the governor there is no risk and only potential for increased liberty.

Not buying that shuck & jive malarkey, no sale.
