Would Rand Paul run in 2016 only if its open, or would he have the guts to run as a dark horse against the Republican President (assuming of course it's not Ron Paul)?

its way to early to ask that.

It depends on a lot of things but i'd highly highly doubt it.

there's not going to be a 2016 election... at least not one that we would recognize as such

this is the last chance for the USA - if it's not Paul it's time to dig in or get out

I highly doubt Rand or any other serious challenger would run against a sitting GOP president. Which is why we are better off with an Obama win if the nominee is not Ron Paul.

What would happen if Rand became the nominee in 2016 when he is up for re-election in the Senate? Would he have to end his Senate re-election bid once he's the nominee?

No. Rand plays ball with the republicans. This would be against the way he works.

The GOP goes down in flames if Ron isn't the nominee. NOBP

I am still in awe that Rand managed to win Kentucky at all.

What with the media and the GOP establishment.

THAT alone is an incredible sign and why I am still enthusiastic about politics.

His campaigning effectiveness is much better than Ron's even though Ron's overall platform is superior on many points.

I will be a Rand supporter all the way (age 24), and I can bet you he will be able to sway large cuts of demographics Ron's campaign have had trouble converting.
