Rand needs to pounce on the Nevada rancher situation

One need only go to CNN to see the story. Scroll down to the comments. They are by FAR and AWAY in favor of the government. He needs to leave this one alone.

While it would fit in nicely with (and help publicize) his efforts to protect landowners from federal bureaucracy, I think it's too risky to side with the rancher.

Who knows the complete backstory? Who knows what skeletons the guy might have in his closet? Who knows how this standoff might end?

When attorneys want to make a precedent, they pick their test cases very carefully.

Rand should expand the fight against these agencies, but I'm not sure this is the right test case.

If anything were dug up on this man I'm sure it would be that, he's a guy who's trying to live his life free of government intrusion, manipulation, and extortion. Anything that this guy has against him is more than likely some government fabricated non-crime that they will parrot in the MSM as him being a evil, America hating, domestic terrorist, when in reality he is just trying to live his life in a state that is almost wholly owned by the Feds for absolutely no reason. This would be on par with Rand supporting the people fighting the EPA over a mud puddle. I don't see a problem with Rand supporting these people. This is the epitome of government overreach and overreaction. They will seriously kill this man for absolutely no other reason than not obeying their demands towards property that they should even be on in the first place. He likely is just as he appears, but it would be stupid to not do adequate checks. Maybe you are willing to risk everything Rand has done on a rash move. I don't. But, if the guy checks out... hell yeah, I think he should get very much involved.

Alex Jones and Drudge just exposed the fact that Harry Reid is behind this land grab. A former staff member of Reid is in charge of the Bureau of Land Management. Documents have been discovered revealing this particular property is part of a land deal Harry Reid and his son arranged, selling the land to China.

This could actually bring Harry Reid down, and probably explains why 90% of Nevada land is owned or was owned by the BLM.

Rand is clear to jump dead on this issue right now... Corruption exposed.

Don't think so. For one, Gov. Sandoval and Sen. Heller have spoken out.

I think it would fit the narrative of out of control agencies running rogue with the Obama administration.

If Rand can mitigate the use of force and potentially save lives by acting, he should act regardless of the political consequences. If he would be powerless to influence the outcome in a positive manner, he should not act. If Rand feels that he can have a positive impact, he should act in the most politically favorable manner.

I've got complete confidence in him to make the right decision.

Rand should be rallying Cruz, Lee, and others, and driving out to the scene to defend the Constitution. Maybe if the Bundy's throw a fundraiser, they can get some politicians to support them here, because clearly making $170K+ and taking an oath to defend it isn't enough for some.

The issue is too complicated for any politician outside of Nevada to be able to give an informed opinion right now. Particularly when they may only have a couple minutes on TV to do so. It covers a wide range of topics:

- History of Nevada
- homestead acts, as they apply to property rights
- history of policy changes in the region
- history of Bundy's dealings with the feds
- details on the court order that the BLM is using as the basis for what they are doing down there now


There are people posting in CNN comments section calling Bundy a thief and a moocher who don't have a full understanding of the situation.
There are people in the media gassing folks up to go down there and stir shit up who don't have a full understanding of the situation.

He is... so is Gretta; but what they are not interjecting is there is no such thing as Fed owned property, or BLM owned property. YOU AND I OWN the property. We are the Fed, we are the BLM, and until the citizens of the United States (owners of all BLM property) object to Bundy staying there; they shouldn't be doing shit !!!!

All we need is a simple Deed of Trust prepared, and we can use my name; i.e., I Dianne _________ do hereby grant _________ Bundy for valuable consideration, all rights and (whatever is next) .. I am a tax payer and I do own this property ... even filed my taxes early this year. Publish in the newspaper in those little hidden things no one ever reads, and no response within 30 days the property is his. Much rather Bundy get it, then China.

Let's record a Deed to Mr. Bundy in the Clark County Courthouse and let them re-start the fight and prove who owns it. BLM and FEDS OWN NOTHING !!!! That is what everyone seems to forget.
