OK, I'll cop, "No one cares" may have been an exaggeration. How many exactly make up a "ton?" Because that, I am pretty sure, ain't enough. Millions will vocally and physically defend burning the symbols of slavery, let gays marry, let nut tuckers use the woman's head and play in woman's sports, give me free healthcare and the "right" to murder the unborn. SCOTUS outlawed this in 1998. They reversed the decision around 2005, but the message was clear: Abortion is an invasive surgical procedure that is not covered under any accountability laws that cover other surgeries. Opposition will not be tolerated.

The PC crowd has made abortion social taboo to talk about, but the opposition to it is still a factor in elections for single issue voters (and the track record is SIVs cut 2-1 pro-life). Clearly, the "just let us appoint 5 conservative justices" football GOP-Lucy keeps tempting the right to kick is not working out.

Rand needs to crank up the discussion the same way he approached gay marriage in the Time editorial---advocate getting the federal government out of the issue. Get Congress to vote to remove the Court's jurisdiction over the issue, which will vacate Roe and thus give active pro-lifers new positive momentum to defeat elective abortion on the state/local level.

I'm not advocating punishment. I made an if-then system that only requires basic logic to understand:

Pro-life leaders and the movement are - generally and IMO - unambiguous about two things:

1) supporting pro-life politicians
2) pro-life doesn't mean punishing the mother (severely, or at all typically)

I.e., they carve out any government action that would follow from the rhetoric (abortion = murder). What remains is, essentially, Obamacare. Read up on the history of the AMA and abortion.

Well, let's not rush Rand.

Remember he's trying to win the Presidency. If the public comes down on the side of "baby parts save lives" then maybe Rand can use his eye doctor expertise and do some PR charity work putting dead fetus eyes into blind babies. We need to work on expanding our liberal base.

We can probably put together an RPF kickstarter to purchase the eyes.
