Candy is once again projecting her left wing fantasies...

Democrats have a pretty myopic view of the political spectrum. Since - under threat of excommunication - the members of their party march along in total, constant, unanimous agreement, they can't understand how anyone could be part of a political organization and disagree with one shred of its platform. They see a guy like Rand Paul buck the GOP and they think, "Clearly, this man is not a Republican. Maybe he can be turned to the dark side."

At least, that's apparently what Obama administration mouthpiece, and CNN State of the Union host, Candy Crowley thinks. This morning, she asked Senator Paul if he could ever picture himself changing his political affiliation. At first he thinks she's speaking of a hypothetical third party. She's not.

She honestly wants to know if he'd ever consider throwing away all that "small government" shtick to join the Democrats.

He seems to think that's pretty funny.

Hopefully he laughs at this irritating woman in the 2016 debates too.

Heh, with Ron they went with third party nonsense now they're trying to associate Rand with democrats. Nice try, Candy cane.

That tells me that there are Democrats, such as Candy Crowley, that like Rand Paul and even would consider voting for him, but they hate that he wears the label of a Republican. She probably sees that he transcends the typical Republican, but can't picture herself crossing that line and voting for a Republican. Rand just makes sense to people and Democrats have a hard time hating him like they do the neo-cons. #Winning!

No, I think she's trying to smear him with his base.

Agree.

To me, it seemed like she was trying to bring up the Libertarian Party, but didn't want to be too obvious about it. Mentioning the Democrat Party was just a joke. A hint at future propaganda though. They will be calling him the "libertarian" candidate by the time the GOP primaries get started. They would like to split him away from the "Tea Party". Divide and conquer.

They are welcome to split him from the tea party label, just running as a Republican is all that Rand needs. He will enter the debates as a top tier candidate.

shes just trying to bait him into saying something they can twist so his new found GOP old guard support will dump him.

Chris matthews complementing Rand and his Prius. Now Candy Crowley with this.
All while Cruz is being propped up to the Republican base. The timing is curious.

They weren't really able to bring Rand down. So they decided to prop up someone else instead. Someone who could 'outrand' Rand.

That's the plan now being executed. And these 'friendly' dems saying things of this nature, at this time, is just a clever way to make Rand look weak to his base.

Eh, assuming it was planned out isn't it a little early to pull these stunts? Gives Rand plenty of time to counter.

She is fishing for a third-party type thing ... why does he and his father before always get that type of question?

Nice way to throw in there that in KY Democrats did not want to overturn the Jim Crow laws, Republicans did.

I don't think that's the takeaway from this interview. You can't base the general population's attitude on an interview with Candy Crowley.

It's not a stunt. They've been associating Ron Paul with a third party since 2008.

Yea but at least with Ron there was reason to do so because he did run as a third party candidate in the past. If he never ran as a Libertarian I don't know if he would have been asked as much as he was, but who knows.

2 days, 200k views, that's more than Ron was able to put up. Anyone who thinks Rand isn't a contender isn't paying attention.

Yep, they will try to paint Rand as a liberal.... Good luck with that! If that doesn't work, they'll Tea Party/libertarianize him.

Rand is a master at this stuff and only getting better... Jim Crow comeback? SLAM.
