I considered voting for the Libertarian Party candidate in this race before the race got so close. I just want my vote to actually make a difference in the outcome since the Senate race is basically tied.
Math and logic fail. If you want your vote to count, vote for what you believe in. You'll be dead before your vote flips any statewide election. Your only hope for living an honest life is to ... live an honest life.
I just had this conversation today in the IL gubernatorial race. Grimm vs Rauner vs Quinn (D, incumbent). Coworker is afraid that a more principled vote (Grimm, the Libertarian) might detract from Rauner's chances (the R-in-name-only like the rest).
But here is the quandary, if your vote really Really REALLY REALLY could count and you could chose between crowning a RINO or giving that crucial vote to a spoiling-the-race Libertarian, what would you do? I'd give it the L and where it loud and proud.
If you support RINOs in November, you'll get them all year long.
