Didn't see this on fox the other night, not sure if it is just for web content or not but the segment had me shaking my head.

Charles Krauthammer @ 2:25 :
"is there anybody who has a sense they are being watched in a way they weren't before?Or that their freedoms are curtailed, i haven't seen any of it."

Are you kidding me sir?
I mean my god, in what small bubble does this man live in?

And this Charles Lane from the Washington post was using the very same code words on Rand as the so called left has.Called him extreme and also bashed Rand for saying the Ryan budget cuts were not big enough.
Bret Baier did try to speak for the other side so kudos to him for at least trying.

I feel less free. Was reminded when i cased a check from my Pastor (for some mechanical work) and they photo copied my ID and prints.

For cashing a check,,,not writing it. There are Homeland Security plaques in the bank.
There are militarized police everywhere.

hell yes I feel less safe. it's like walking around in a city under occupation.

I think this video is indicative that neoconservatism is on the defensive.

I feel less free, plus I have to spy on my clients since I am in the financial services industry. I don't enjoy spying on my clients.

You know, it would probably make more sense for us to email Krauthammer about feeling less safe.

Sort of like those 'I am Campaign for Liberty' calls when they were giving us grief in congress over the DISCLOSE act.

Krauthammer is as statist as they come. He even supports a national speed limit of 55 MPH.

What, not a single person on the panel to argue against the patriot act? What? I'm shocked... really, really shocked!

.. why..?

hard to find 3 people in this world who support the patriot act and can also speak english?

there are days when i feel more optimistic about our civilization,
there are days when i feel our civilization is too claustrophobic...

Yeah, well, Senate was like that until Rand got there. For all of Feingold's one vote against the Patriot Act when it came out, for which I am grateful, he didn't object to extending it by unanimous consent all the times since then.

What is telling is how fast congress wrote the legislation, and how fast they passed it without reading it:
https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/USA_PATRIOT_Act

The USA PATRIOT Act (commonly known as the "Patriot Act") is an Act of the U.S. Congress that was signed into law by President George W. Bush on October 26, 2001.
...

The Act was passed in the House by 357 to 66 (of 435) and in the Senate by 98 to 1 and was supported by members of both the Republican and Democratic parties.

Opponents of the law have criticized its authorization of indefinite detentions of immigrants; searches through which law enforcement officers search a home or business without the owner’s or the occupant’s permission or knowledge; the expanded use of National Security Letters, which allows the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to search telephone, e-mail, and financial records without a court order, and the expanded access of law enforcement agencies to business records, including library and financial records. Since its passage, several legal challenges have been brought against the act, and Federal courts have ruled that a number of provisions are unconstitutional.

Is it not obvious to most everyone that it was already written waiting in the wings to clamp down on the mundanes?

This is my first time actually watching the Harry Reid speech. These globalists are getting more and more bold with the hand signals.

"it's not a governing ideology and that's why it never wins..." Fuck you, Charles.

i know an older viet-man vet red-neck republican (though i've spoken with him enough that he is now anti-war and anti-patriot act but still believes RP is too extreme) that knows he has government of some form watching him - and he believes it's because he posted some bad stuff about Obama and what he'd like to see happen to him on a forum (not this one). - neighbors questioned, black SUV tailing him, etc.

i'll send him the youtube (with the understanding that this'll probably put me under surveilance)

Bret: ...the libertarian string of the republican party.....

Charles: ....it's an important influence...I think it (libertarians/tea party) reminds us of our obligation to the Constitution...

We're not here to remind government of governments obligation to the Constitution, we're here to make government FOLLOW the Constitution.

It's called minding the store, not re-minding the store.
