You assume an explanation is necessary. I say FL and GA are not relevant because Rand has never had a shot at those states. He could get slightly better numbers if he goes down there to campaign, but mainly a waste of resources. Those are going to be Bush or Rubio delegates at the RNC. Even Ron Paul in 2007 was polling 0-2% in FL:

Trump stumbled onto the idea that illegal immigrants steal significant numbers of jobs. People have been learning to do math since then. Three percent of the population certainly didn't put thirty percent of the population on the sidelines. As Clinton said, 'It's the economy, stupid.'

And Trump's support has obviously been limited to about 30% of Republicans only. That will equally obviously never win a national election.
