Q3 $ summary for active GOP candidates - RP a solid 3

I added "Money Spent in Q3" to the Original Post, just for fun and to quell some confusion about who spent the most.

You know what, you are probably right. I was looking at the Q3 numbers without realizing that they may have still had cash in hand from Q2, so I assumed that all of the 14 M Romney had in the Cash on Hand was from what he made this quarter.

My mistake, lol. Math has never been my strong suit.

Yea, I added a "Money Spent" section to the Original Post. If anything, Perry is the one who has skated along while spending (comparatively) very little.

Yep, Cain is 5th at best. Paul is clearly ahead of Cain; even Bachmann is ahead of Cain. There is no "wide financial lead" for Cain. Just lies, per usual. I mean, I guess maybe Cain has a "wide financial lead" over Frothy and the Newt.

These numbers highlight how much we need to raise a huge amount in this next money bomb. He may be a solid third place, but that's a very glass-is-half-full way of looking at these numbers.

Romney has more on hand than he received for the quarter, meaning he took in money last quarter faster than he could spend it and he's just stashing that all away for his blitzkrieg from December on.

Yep, in the end, 3rd place is no place. Romney is getting and spending boatloads of cash. I wasn't trying to paint a rosy picture with the data; I just wanted to assemble it all for factual discussion.

Bachmann recently posted her second presidential campaign fund at the FEC site (yea, she has two). I believe it's a converted congressional fund and it only has a couple hundred thousand in and out; but I figured I should update my chart because I am a stickler for accuracy.

It would be interesting to see a graph of Perry's donations vs time in Q3. Have they dropped a lot in the end of Q3?

Will donations to Paul beat Perry in Q4 and move into second place?
Will Cain's donations pick up steam in Q4, or have donations already started to dry up for him?


One thing I've noticed with any interaction with Romney supporters is that they seem to be blind to facts. They keep repeating the mantra that he's good with business and therefore he will save the American economy. Never mind his governorial jobs record, never mind military donations, never mind the flip-flops. All ignored.

I've also concluded that if you post on the wall of a candidate in facebook, only a VERY VERY SMALL percentage of the people who "like" that page ever even see your post. That small percentage of people are probably the only ones I've been interacting with (paragraph above).

I think Paul is buying his block TV way upfront, most of which have not aired yet, because he knows what his strategy is, which is to push hard in Iowa, NH, SC, and Nevada.

I have no idea what the strategy of most of the other candidates beyond that Bachmann is now a one-state candidate in Iowa, while Romney is focusing on NH. I don't know if Romney, Perry or Cain will push hard in Iowa. Romney will hit Nevada I'm sure, but not SC. Perry is skippinmg NH and is damaged in Florida. Romney and Cain will hit Florida I'm sure.

Meet the Press was SO pathetic this Sunday on the fundraising issue. The panel was shown the screen showing Paul was number three behind Romney and Perry, but after mentioning those two by name, they jumped to the second screen showing the rest of the candidates' totals, so they could talk about number four (Cain), for the rest of the money discussion. Paul gets positively skipped over from being covered on broadcast TV, wherever they can.
