Ron Paul has done such an amazing job at advancing the cause of liberty, he has inspired a generation and the movement he has started will go on.

The question I want to know is. Are we, in general, putting too many eggs into one basket? I kinda get the impression that most people, myself included, have rested too much hope with Ron Paul.

I believe it's time to diversify and spread our resources to other liberty-orientated organisations and people.

Any thoughts?

My eggs are mostly in MY basket. Anyone that put everything into Ron or Rand, or ANY politician is stupid.

Control your own eggs, they are all you got!

In finance, diversification means reducing risk by investing in a variety of assets. The phrase "don't put all your eggs into one basket" is often utilized by investment advisors to stress the importance of diversification. Investing an excessive amount in any single endeavor is one of the commonest mistakes made by novice investors. Thus, Keeping investment eggs in many baskets is recommended. Diversifying helps you to manage your risk and create a more stable business model. If one thing goes down, you have a whole arsenal of other options to keep you alive.

We are always testing new baskets but haven't yet found one as good as the worn one we have.

I think we need to put more eggs in the same basket! Ron Paul for an independent run. As Andrew Carnegie said, "Put all your eggs in one basket and watch that basket!"

The problem is with the investing metaphor is that we must build the baskets. Ron Paul did not suddenly wake up one day and decide to run for Congress and the presidency and he did not do it alone. The internet groundwork we have laid is smart but we must continue to support and encourage liberty minded people with "proper" credentials to run for office. Without them, the movement may die. Even the best basket eventually wears out and must be replaced with a similar basket.

actually, at least when it came to congress, that is pretty much exactly what he did. But I agree we have to keep searching them out and grooming and supporting our saplings, so to speak....
