An analysis by The Associated Press has found the net household property tax burden rose 13% in Gov. Chris Christie's first three years in office.

That figure reflects both Christie's success in reining in local government spending and his inability to deliver on a 2009 campaign promise to restore a property tax relief program.

New Jersey continues to have the highest property tax bills in the nation.

During his 2009 campaign, Christie promised both to slow the growth of the taxes and to bring back a rebate program.

What is the property tax rate over there?
Here where I live it is 1.72% per year of taxable value.
