With all the ups and downs of this race I still won't 100% rule him out, however he's taken a major hit and is going down Newty style now. I hope it holds long enough for him to throw in the towel (and it very well may :) )

Nice to see Ron Paul picking up some more notice at the same time as well, if a healthy portion of the "ABO" vote and anti-Romney vote flow to Paul through the Super Tuesday stretch that would be a staggeringly positive effect on the evolution of the race.

Google trends doesn't prove "everything", we are notoriously over searched. It has done a fine job though of seeing who the Teocon of the moment was. If those people are looking up the bridge to nowhere, it won't be good for Santo.
 
Google trends is telling the truth, always has. It's not our fault that the system is cheating Ron Paul....when they can't cheat we win.

A lot has to do with keywords too, for example out of all the candidates only Ron Paul is searched strictly entering both his first name and his last name. If you search Santorum by itself, or Romney by itself they get a lot more hits than reported.

I will agree with you that Google only represents the portion of the population that is on the Internet...which is a pretty big chunk.
 
He's "toast" is an absolutist statement. Will his momentum be hurt now? Absolutely. That depends on whether or not the Catholics/Evangelicals who have rallied around Santorum will actually care about anything political, rather than religious.

Forget Grinch, right now Santorum is the thorn in our backside, and we need him deflated immediately. You go after Mitt when Santorum isn't so much of a threat. If you go after Mitt now, that will play in Santorum's hand, and he's the one grabbing our soft support by brainwashing the masses that could have been onboard with us.
 
The media will determine who is toast. I was at work today and walked by a TV that had CBS on. They didn't mention RP except that he had the best line - He is a fake. They kept saying the race is still between Romney and Sick Santorum. But if Santorum falls, Newt could rise again, totally leaving out the possibility that RP could rise. These people are pathetic.
 
Something that isn't a google trend is the matronly lady clerking for Office Max. I purchased a ink cartridge for a friend and was, of course, wearing my RP T-Shirt. The store was dead so she asked me about RP. I asked her who her favourite president was. She replied "Eisenhour." :D
Five minutes later I walked away with a registered Republican vote.

This is why I think *THE* single most important thing we can do is wear Ron Paul gear. That's something the media can't black out.

If we had a tshirt/sweatshirt for every day of the week - and wore them everywhere - ALLLL of us - imagine what that would look like?!?

Thanks. I honestly wasn't rep whoring. I just wanted to point out that this revolution is being won one heart and mind at a time. And in four years we have done amazingly well. The exponential growth created by each and everyone of us has shown positive in a nation of over 300 million people. Sometimes I am just blown away.

He has some pretty stiff opposition: the party and the media. The people are scared of him because of what the media says about him. He is called a nut job, crazy uncle ron.

He has a lot of support more than anyone wants to admit especially the media and the party. It is a David and Goliath type scenario for us. Can we throw a good enough shot with our sling shot Ron Paul?

I made a comment at another site that got voted way up when I said:

"if the GOP wanted to win they would find a young good looking guy and make him say everything that Ron Paul says"

At this site that i blog at it is my contention that the GOP does not want to win the election. If they wanted to win they could do much better. Are they stupid or smart? Will they be able to keep Ron Paul supporters from increasing in numbers? They are doing everything they can ya know to keep us down and discouraged. Are his supporters strong enough to push thru?

i like Ron Paul I will vote for him I do not feel it is a wasted vote.
 
I don't think Santorum is toast. I do think it is high time the Paul campaign go after Romney in a do or die way now.
 
I would think we'd want Santorum's google trend to skyrocket? Everyone should know the definition of Santorum
 
Well, Google trends have almost no correlation with polls. The number of primary voters willing to spend the time to do actual Internet research on candidates is vanishingly small. 95% of the voters will vote for whomever has the most face time on the TV, or whoever looks the best or "feels right". Very few voters vote based on issues.

This is why we get all the smart informed people at the rallies but few in the voting booths. The retard ratio is huge and against us.

If it wasn't that way, the majority would have voted for much better people in the past and we wouldn't be in the situation we are in now.

Especially with all the Paul/Romney talk lately. Paul should counter with an ad on Romney while this meme is big. More bang for buck. Paul style.
