Pro-Paul group unleashes fiery attack ad

I totally understand where you're coming from. All your hard work seems to be going down the drain, but until Cruz drops out it won't matter very much. And when he does we will have a brand new window of opportunity to win them over. I'm not saying it's perfect political strategy or anything, but you have to admit it is getting people's attention. It's a popularity contest, and this video makes Rand seem popular.

I think it just makes him look like he has people who don't know what they're doing. Whether it was done outside his campaign or not, it will reflect on him and it will color people's perception of how he will function as a world leader. Not to mention it gives his opponents and the media ammunition against him. It's silly, not cool and unprofessional. I can't imagine anyone giving the green light on this unless they are only trying to appeal to teenagers or people with low IQs.

Well, to be honest, it's fine to go full-on Idiocracy "BRAWNDO!!" so long as you are doing that against an opponent with whom you do not share a base. Put Lindsay Graham in a pink tutu pirouetting across the screen and Cruz supporters will laugh like hell. We'll NEVER get Graham supporters anyway, so it's no loss to us, but we would turn some Cruz-firstchoicers into Paul-firstchoicers.

Imagine this question during debates: Senator Paul, you had a staffer on your campaign who was completely incompetent. His close relationship with your family cost your father 2 presidential elections. Can you tell us, how did you deal with the situation ?

Cruz supporters may laugh like hell but it will make it hard to get any support from the traditional GOP base and he has to have a lot of that support come over to his side as well if he wants to get nominated.

Easy answer: "He wanted a job, I refused to hire him. Next."

You're going too far. The ad is awful, to be generous, but what you're saying isn't gonna happen.

Nobody who is going to vote for Graham, will ever vote for Paul in a Primary. Graham Crackers are also the type to vote for "Any-Republican" in a General, so you would get more benefit from the memorability of stupidness than you would get loss from any alienating of the Graham Crackers.

I couldn't give the last damn about media coverage. I have personally seen 100 or so real people Cruz supporters who used to have Paul as their #2 swear off Paul in the last 24-36 hours.

Drama queens today will be drama queens tomorrow.

Cruz is a threat and we do need those supporters, most of the ones who previously considered coming around will come around when the time presents itself. This funny ad is not the end of days, they will forget about it next week when more important matters take up their attention. When Cruz drops out they will be presented with choices, most Cruz people will put into consideration the next best Constitutionalist or principled conservative, not the super pac ad that put Cruz in a boxing suit.

No, but there may be other more traditionalist types who will see it and probably take offense or just think it's more "kooky" behavior.
And media types will exploit it. They're already leaving him out of polls.

Too far ? What is the office Rand is running for ? The most powerful man on this planet ? Or am I kidding myself ?

Why did they decide to disable comments on the video? Could've been a resource for input on later ads. And why no description, 'Sunday May 31, 2015 Rand Paul takes on the Patriot Act'?

This usually happens during clusterf*cks like this one

Smh. I think this is a net positive. Of course, only time will tell. But I for one hope that people see this ad and actually tune in on Sunday to watch someone in Washington actually stand up for their rights. If that happens, it'll all be worth it. The media coverage isn't nearly as bad as you guys are making it seem. I honestly think that you are a little too intelligent to appreciate the simplicity and "lol, I have to Google this" factor of this ad. If we hit 1mil views by June 1, I think it will be interesting to see how interest shifts. The low info voter that doesn't know this forum exists is going to be like "lol wow this guy gives zero fucks".

And what percentage of GOP Primary voters are the type of people who say things like, "lol wow this guy gives zero fucks"? The GOP base is middle to upper middle class married couples with children and retirees. Ads like this do not appeal to them in any way, and instead reinforce the idea already being pushed hard by the MSM and his GOP opponents that Paul is "fringe" or "kooky". It would be like Lindsay Graham running an ad that makes him seem gay. I am seeing the same kind of problems with the Paul campaign that I saw with the Brannon campaign in NC. Team Paul seems to have gotten in to a rut of preaching to the choir and hasn't even been making an attempt lately to court the mainstream conservative voters that will decide the GOP primary.

Which reinforces the idea the campaign's main objective is money bombs. How do we get these suckers to give us their cold, hard cash ?

Let the "professionals" handle it...yeah right.

Look, it's pretty clear, Benton's a fucking mole.

Get rid of him.

The campaign had nothing to do with the ad.

But yes, at this point in the game, cash is king. Early money is critical to success.
