This is all very gruesome, but from watching a bit of the video, these are not considered late term abortions. When they pulled up the form, it looked like 20 weeks is the max. Obviously, 20 weeks is bad enough, but not late term.
If early term abortion is legal, than tissue donation would be pretty standard stuff from a medical perspective. As sad and gruesome as it is, people are asked everyday if they would like a deceased loved ones body used for spare parts. The obvious danger here is an issue of incentives, which applies not only to abortion, but patients of any age. Are things being done out of a concern or desire for utilizing body parts, or out of a profit motive? Are treatment decisions being made based on this? Keep the body alive long enough to harvest the organs? Is killing someone a certain way better for harvesting organs? What about executed criminals?
There are a lot of ramifications from this.
