Prepare for Big Campaign Announcement

Ok

I think we can call off the corn and corn products boycott.

Are you guys still protesting during the candidates forum?
People are still rallying. Rallying. Not protesting.

There is no protest. The protest was and is not a good idea, especially now more than before.

But people are rallying.

Okay, I was getting worried. I've been talking around and people are worried that we were going to present ourselves in a manner that would just confirm Failor's claims of "fringe" activities.

could someone clue me in, i cant seem to tell what is the announcement through 40+ pages of comments.

Thanks
Gino

You, the organizational leaders, and the other responsible supporters need to step up and make sure it doesn't become a protest. Some people still think it is a protest, and it's not.

Ron Paul is going to hold his own speaking event in the same building as the forum but in the next room over. The first 500 people get free refreshments.

Oh nice, hopefully his speech will get some of the forums media to go over and showcase some real debate on taxes and religion.

thanks for the speedy reply! ;)

Iowa Rally Concerns

I'm also concerned that the event will be mostly out of staters, which it will, and which will be pointed out endlessly by the media and Ed Failor, Jr., and which will be resented by the real Iowans in attendance.

I think this is a bad idea in its present form.

I think it will be great either way! The word has just begun to spread about this guy. We can't blame the Iowans for not knowing who he is yet. Hell the forum doesn't even want Iowans to know who he is...

It shows how dedicated those that know about him really are. If someone came to my town in East Texas from California just to spread a message I would wonder what made that person so determined. If I found out my local state Tax organization was doing this I would be mad as hell.

Huh

How can a well attended rally be bad?

People from Illinois look like people from Iowa.

People from Nebraska and Minnesota do to0.

People from Misery though. well - ok you have point. :D

(sorry guys - that is the southern Iowan in me)

If it's all out of staters. Ask the Iowans how they felt about Dean supporters swamping their state in '04. Or you could just look at how they voted.

I'd prefer a smaller rally comprised mostly of actual Iowans. It would be more effective IMO. This has the potential to backfire.

Remember, the one decent blow Ed Failor Jr. landed on Kent Snyder on the Jan Mickelson show was that 99% of the calls were coming from out of state and therefore didn't reflect the views of Iowans.

Imagine how 5,000 non-Iowans protesting will play, and how loudly Ed Failor will point it out, and how the media will scan the crowd, ask rallyers where they're from, and play up the "handful of supporters from out of state" meme.

The "Deaniacs" in orange caps weren't the problem with his campaign IMO.

Are you in the Iowa area?

Well this Missourian Ozark Mt Boy's gonna have to pay you a visit when I get up to Des Moines in my Beverly Hillibilly mobile :D

Iowans will need to step up

Yeah, it will look very bad I think if it's mostly out of staters. The fact that the presidential race, taxes and religion are national issues will be lost on most people unfortunately.

Iowans, god bless'em, will definitely need to step up on this one to keep it from becoming somewhat of a disaster.

You have seemed very negative about things.

Maybe it is all perception. We have a lively group in Iowa that are gonna be well represented. We have a lively group of out of state that are coming in. It will be a well represented rally. Well represented rallies are good. Being at the same place that a forum has not invited him negates the forum that was stupid enough to not do so.

Well represented rallies and a media showing up to rewcord it has so many potentials that I do not want to even try to mention them all.

Instead of being negagtive maybe try to help out the cause.
