Idk, definitely either "Democratic president, Republican congress" or "Republican president, Democratic congress"

At least that might slow things down a little. As opposed to a Democratic President with a Democratic Congress (or Republican P&C), where they would just go apeshit passing everything they wanted. It doesn't really make that much of a difference though. It's two wings of the same bird.

Republican congress and Republican President spend (see: Bush from 2002-2007)
Democratic congress and Republican President spend (see: Bush from 2007-2009)
Democratic congress and Democratic President spend (see: 2009-Present)

The only time spending seems to go down and we have meaningful gridlock is when there is a Republican congress and a Democratic President. So of those four options, that is what I think I prefer.

This is a relevant question because it concerns the only probable options in the near-term. This is why i don't vote.

Can't tell that it would make a damn bit of difference.

That was not a poll option.

I didn't see the only real difference between any of that crap... no government ::sighs::

I would prefer a Libertarian President, and as many Conservatives (not neo-cons/so-cons) and Libertarians in Congress as possible. Sure, it likely won't happen anytime soon, but it is still my preference.

I think we should have Republicrat as president of a banana republic. The Demicans can control the legislature, but they will always vote for whatever laws the Republicrat president proposes, by force if necessary (this is a banana republic, after all).

Well I think this is kinda silly, but I kinda voted for the Republican Congress and Bill Clinton years

Definitely none of the above

I vote option "other"

Two party system is negatively affecting capitalism and freedom.

Knowing what I know now, the last president I would have fervently supported was a Democrat (Cleveland), and before him, the last president I would have supported was Jefferson Davis.
Haven't put much thought into congress.

Making 4 options that are all 4 exactly the same is just redundant man.

Democrat president, Republican Congress.

When a Democrat is president, Republicans tend to support smaller government, even if they have Congress. Republicans would be in charge of spending, and the Democrat wouldn't be as bad with foreign policy, in which he has relatively more power.

I surely don't want Democrats across the board like now (the result is socialism) or Republicans across the board (neocon wars).

I also don't want Democrats to control spending with a powerless Republican president (in terms of being able to cut spending) . That leads to huge deficits.
