We MUST raise $10 million on the 16th!! What are you talking about, $6m - $8m? Have you told all your friends and family to donate $25-50 on that day? Have you written letters to the editor in local newspapers talking about RP and slipping in Dec 16th? Have you done the same thing by calling in to radio shows?

Etc.?

$18 million is hardly daring at all. That's not even a bet, that's a hedge.

I don't think that $20 is out of the question. If we can somehow manage the one-day-goal of $10, $22 is easy. And, if we can manage 35,500 pledges by then *and* supposing the ratio of pledges to donations holds... that $10million will happen. Even if we don't get another pledge, the ratio already has us at more than $7mil. And it's held 3 times now by my count.

I agree in principle. However, I'd suggest something like the 29th instead. It still counts 4th quarter, but doesn't put us on New Year's Eve, when everyone else has parties on their mind. The 30th is probably also safe. However, looks like the 28th is a Friday, do most people have it off? If it was a work day, it'd be ideal. Since it's not, maybe Saturday 29th is better.

We should have a modest goal. 10,000 at $50 per would be good.

It's probably too late to put one before the teaparty, but another mini-money bomb on the 6th or 7th would have been good. Does anyone have anything between then and now?

I think $20 million is definitely within reach. I think $10-million is just about right for 12/16 + $12-million before that.

That said, however, that's great for the candidate that Paul is, but do you really think that will top the other top level candidates who have much more corporate / political networking at their disposal?

Fourth-quarter fundraising is almost always lower than 3rd quarter - Rudy and Romney each raised about $10-11 million in the 3rd quarter, so we'd expect them to each be under $10 million or so.

Now Romney COULD donate another $10 million or so to his campaign, but he's already donated - what? - $17.5M to his campaign. I THINK he is only worth about $200 million, so maybe we can donate more money than Romney is willing to spend.

$20 million will give us enough to say that "Ron is the only candidate who can compete with Hillary in fundraising ability."
