As others have said, he's a Texas politician, so he should win by a large margin in Texas vs. those from other States.

Not to beat a dead horse here, but this immigration debate is marginalizing Rand with conservatives. Rand led the filibuster, but people know that Cruz (and Mike Lee) jumped in too. Cruz took the lead against the Amnesty Bill. Cruz is taking the lead in calling for abolishing the IRS. Cruz is pretty much jumping on to every "Tea Party" issue, many of them ones that Ron Paul was popularizing. Cruz seems to be taking on a lot of Ron Paul's issues. Obviously, not in the same way or with the same objectives, but the cry of "abolish the IRS" sounds the same to the vast majority of the people, no matter who says it. The details are lost on most.

So we're losing to the Cruz who has home field advantage and we're losing to Bush who has huge name recognition and home field advantage by proxy. It's not as bad as I thought when I first read "3rd place".

Christie, in my opinion, will do horrible in a general. I just say that because he is an unlikable, fat, republican. Moderates might prefer him over other repubs but I think in the end they'll pull the lever for the Dem.

Course, then again, some people really like to be able to say that they don't always vote down party lines. I just have a hard time imagining the majority of the country liking this guy - and being likable is important.

People actually do like him in New Jersey where they've had the most exposure to him, and politics is pretty dirty there so I don't think he's exactly easy pickings for the Dems.

However, while he may be a strong general election candidate, he stands very little chance in the GOP primary. His base within the GOP probably has a very low ceiling, unlike that of Rand, Cruz, Bush, and Ryan (Rubio may be low too cause of immigration and simply failing in the spotlight).

No it is not. He is a natural born citizen despite not being a native born citizen. Ted Cruz has always been a US citizen since the moment of his birth.

You do not need to be born of two citizen parents to be a natural born citizen.

He was born inside the US though (allegedly) while Cruz was born in Canada so one can be natural born and one can't.

Natural born HAS to mean something. Think about it. The founders put it there for a reason and it's not because they wanted someone born in Canada to become president.

Also just because Obama breaks the rules and produces a forgery for a birth certificate doesn't give Cruz a pass. If anything the Birthers will be even more determined with him to get a ruling from the courts on this.

You do not need to be born of two citizen parents to be a natural born citizen.

The plural is used in the original immigration act of 1790 and this is the only place where natural born is defined. This is clear dude ive explained it to you. Natural born means something and it means someone born in Canada to just 1 US parent cannot be president.
