Stencils... you can use ANYTHING for stencils but the thinner, the easier to cut out. For some fast stencils you can use the thin rally signs. You can spray about 50-100 signs before it's too wet and has to dry. If you make 4 you can get through a ton of signs in a day.
For better stencils, 1/4 foam board seems to hold up to hundreds with out issue
cardboard will hold up okay, but is a pain to cut out and only lasts about 50 sprays before you have to let it dry.
You will know when it's too wet. your signs will get sloppy.
If you can afford to have a machine shop cut a stencil out of 1/4 fiber plastic type material, it'll last forever.
The LARGE 8' x 4' stencil was done with a projected image and a sharpie. Use a jig saw to cut it out. 1/4" paneling type board was used. It's perfect but you need to have another board under your vinyl to keep make a sandwich. Otherwise your stencil won't lay flat and you will overspray. This holds true for the rest of the stencils too. Put down a tarp over the grass and then a board under it to keep the stencil pressed down flat. The grass is bumpy with out it.
Try to make stencils out of material that you can cut with an exacto knife with out hurting your hand
