I don't know what to make of it other than it makes Santorum look like an idiot. Talk about the kid in the room. It was incredibly juvenile and looked downright goofy.

Edited to add: I suddenly noticed the "shooting" and Santorum's reaction is amusing in that respect. But it still it was a bit much... like looking for a photo op showing him and Ron as buddies.

We can't have it both ways. Can't complain about Santorum doing this to a "76 year old man" without dispelling the idea that Ron is too old.

I thought it was a pretty cool interaction between the two. I agree it was more of a "you got me you sonofabitch" type handshake. He pats him on the back too.

If I were socially awkward and knew about Ron's athletic exploits, I might think he was up for that sort of thing. Misses all the debate except the play-by-play thread. I hope Ron's performance in this debate motivates us to start making phone calls.

It was a lumberjack handshake, a push & pull motion like you're sawing down a tree. I've seen it in an old movie - Bob Hope and Bing Crosby, I think.
