A freaken great post! Damn, I needed that thank you!! Ron Paul is sneaking in on the coattails of sharing third place. The MSM are gleeful of Ron Paul's so called "poor" showing and will miss the fact Ron Paul is steadfastly moving up and is ready to blast into top tier status. RP is the equivalent of a F-117 Nighthawk fighter jet. The hubris of the corporate media will ensure he's off the MSM radar all this weekend long but wait till Tues in NH, They are going to shit in their Brook brothers suits and I can't wait for these Mofos to eat crap and tell us how good it tastes.

Let's hope RP is spending our hard earned money to win or at least place in NH!! :)

I was a bit distraught and dejected but after seeing that he got most of the independent votes I have regained charisma and am quite optimistic about New Hampshire.

This is the best post I've seen here since I got back here at 9:30 CST from my first ever REPUBLICAN PARTY MEETING so I can eventually become a delegate for RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT. I'd wager my last remaining testicle that most of you marching on warcraft havent set foot outside to do a sign bomb - over 200 people easy. I lurk this forum instead of my morning paper, the evening Simpsons/FamilyGuy syndis, and cleaning the house. So many here think this is just a focking game. Not to me it isnt. Ima 35 year old guy who's going to pay dearly for this country's mistakes. It makes me sick to my stomach, unproductive in my business, uninterested in dating and starting a family... a focking depression case. This is my shining star. This is our last chance to save this nation. I know it in my heart as I have known we are doomed my entire adult life.

ACTIVATE: Get into a meetup and GET IT ORGANIZED. Meetup.com is inflexible so create a website as a companion to it. Many of us (me too) will host it for nothing. Lots of people like the groovy-collective-disorder of grassroots. Show me where that works in business. You can't. Get managers and some order in your groups.

TRUTHERS: Leave 9/11 at the door. Others have said it here... 9/11 will be fast forgotten when you are standing in a soup line in a refugee camp. I thank the truthers for getting the early message out there. But really, I don't care about 9/11 anymore, it was terrible but I am over it. Ya, I said that.

GET OUTDOORS: While your sitting here reading this print some of the plethora of PDF's available and put them everywhere you can. I have Google RON PAUL signs covering the east side of Milwaukee's power poles. Hundreds. I did this myself, one person.

SO GET OFF YOUR ASSES AND GET HIM INTO OFFICE!!!

I apologize for the rant, but I have read so much here that many of you seem like family/friends. I needed my brief soapbox. Back to lurk mode.

Ron Paul is doing great!

This is a great thread and it hits the right points. So many people predicted that Ron Paul would go nowhere--that he had no chance. But in Iowa, which is hardly the place where we'd expect Ron Paul to do best, he was within striking distance of third place! This only adds to Paul's momentum. :)

I would add that we must take the long view, regardless of this cycle's results. If it takes decades, so be it. If we have to infiltrate and control the mass media over two generations, and start up and control new media companies, so be it. We havn't lost until we're all dead with no descendants. Until then, we're in the process of winning.
 
Someone here mentioned being in the military. This actually means a lot in Iowa. We have to remember that there are no absentee ballots in Iowa. If you're in Iraq or Afghanistan, you can't vote in the caucus. We know RP has a lot of supporters in the military, so we will likely get some bump from absentee ballots in some of the primary states. I also noticed that RP took 29% of the independent vote in Iowa. That's very important for New Hampshire where over 40% of the state is independent. Yes, I'm disappointed that we didn't do better tonight, but let's keep Iowa in perspective. This is far from over. On to New Hampshire!!:D

Great post, however I disagree on the fact that Paul campaigned in Iowa less than any other candidate. Rudy essentially gave Iowa the bird, and admitted it. RP was frequently in Iowa.
 
If the OP isn't optimistic enough, go read some of the delegate threads.

We don't have to win NH either. We have to look at this in the long run. Being able to outlast the other candidates after they run out of money and support and drop out is what will count in the end.
