Positive Field CA Poll for Ron Paul - Momentum!

CA is a GOP only primary. I know the grassroots in SD are getting very active and we will begin coordinated canvassing soon.

This makes sense. CA is more divided by east and west than north and south like people want to think. The coastal areas are more liberal and the inland areas tend to be more conservative/neoconish. I live in San Diego where people think it's "conservative", but most of the coastal areas are liberal, and SD voted for Obama over McCain in 08 by quite a lot. (side note SD has the largest # of registered Libertarians for whatever that's worth).
I've never heard of San Diego being conservative. o_o

Is this a closed primary and what is the deadline to change affiliation? (I have family in CA)
Not sure about the deadline, but it is a closed primary...

My Congressional District is the 42nd, it is very conservative I believe, Gary Miller (neoconservative) is the representative. Not sure if people would go to Ron Paul, if a lot of people are like my parents they just vote for whoever is in the lead... Pretty sure I can switch my parents to Ron Paul though, although my dad and mum really do not care about politics, my dad more thinks that politics is full of crap and lying scumbags I think I forgot what he said, but it was something that meant that. Also, know people at my high school were very liberal, only knew this one guy who hated Obama with a passion and was a Republican, was kind of strange though, but he likes Paul. I know I could convert a lot of people at my high school, but if they'd vote I don't think so plus lot of people are apathetic for politics.

Californians need to realize that Ron Paul is the ONLY one that wouldn't use federal force to come in and raid their medical marijuana facilities that are legal under state law....

You are talking about California REPUBLICANS who support such things. And fought their damndest to make sure marijuana and gay marriage weren't legalized.

funny enough, there is ample evidence that prop 8 passed only because of extreme minority turnout for obama's election. it seems the great majority of the racial minorities favored prop 8. if obama had not been on the ticket, prop 8 probably wouldn't have passed.

The fix was in with prop 8. The mormons played dirty tricks and got it to pass, even though most people didn't agree with it. There's even a documentary about this.

Most Democrats might linger to Ron Paul's ideas, but I don't think they will switch parties for Ron Paul not sure...

Like my neighbor. He is a Ron Paul democrat who told me that I should vote for Ron Paul before he knew I supported Ron Paul. But he isn't switching parties to republican >_>

Targeting the mmj community is key. Last time around they gave the benefit of the doubt to Obama. Now, nothing has changed and it's actually gotten worse with even more federal raids on dispensaries. I hope there is a plan for this because god knows the stoner vote is less reliable than even the youth vote.

This is very important because California could hold a lot of delegates for us, as this year they are apportioning delegates by congressional district – three per district –*to the winner of the district.

So if we win some of the more "liberal" districts, we could end up winning as many delegates as a Romney with his great operation in the Republican ones.

California checking in, I need to see your source and demographics please.

Thank You.

I just wanted to let everybody know that Ron Paul has a very strong presence in the 33rd congressional district, where our HQ is located. We are growing at a pretty rapid rate. :)

We have a plan to win the state but we also need your help as well.

District by District is good and Paul can pick up some solid delegate wins that way (I wish more Paul supporters understood that gaining sufficient delegates to be nominated is more important than "winning" one of the beauty contest polls /sigh)

It's great to hear about the grassroots activity going on in CA seems to be quite lively there, be sure to let we out of staters know when/how we can help you folks :)
(now if we have or can get something going on in TX like we have in CA things will be even better :) )

Delegates up for grabs as per the green papers:

YEah, but when you have a state that is on the verge of doing something no other state has, and somehow this tard is in the lead:

Wow. I just watched those to Romney pro-marijuana prohibition videos, I'm amazed at how out of touch he is with reality. He claims to want less drugs in society but wants to keep them illegal. A halfway intelligent person can understand that legalizing the drugs is one sure way to have less people using the drug. And, for medicinal purposes, he himself even mention that there's a "synthetic version" that's available. Why is that better than the real thing? Because the pharmaceutical companies said so? Ridiculous romney. :(

60% of Blacks voted for Prop 8.

Looking at the map, you can see the "conservative" are of California are mostly inland

People in northern CA talk about San Diego like it's Alabama, it's ridiculous. There's a lot of ignorance to reality here in CA!

I'm born and raised NorCal and never heard anybody say San Diego was conservative, in fact usually its stereotyped as liberal. The most conservative parts of the state will be up North, particularly Modoc County.

The most winnable Congressional District would probably be the 1st. UC Davis will give us some college votes, and Mendocino and Humboldt county has the druggie votes.

Most of my family is favorable to Ron Paul too, but simply refuse to switch parties.

Got a link?

Go CA Grassroots!

California Republican Presidential Primary
Field
Romney 31%
Santorum 25%
Paul 16%
Gingrich 12%

The last CA poll had Ron Paul in last, at 9%.

Everyone is down, except Ron Paul!

I know there is a grassroots office in LA. They are making a difference! And remember, part of Gingrich's strategy is to do very well in CA. He just spent several days there.

How about that link?

I am from Riverside County and i just recently moved to Northern California. While i was driving up here, on the side of the freeway in Riverside there was a HUGE Ron Paul
sign. When i saw it i got the chills, i wish i could have took a picture and posted it for you guys. I have not ever seen any other candidates sign anywhere.
