PorcFest X — The 10th Annual Porcupine Freedom Festival!
June 16-23, 2013 (Sunday through Sunday although the 19th through the 22nd are the busiest days)
Roger's Campground in Lancaster, New Hampshire
http://www.PorcFest.com

Most of the speakers have not yet been announced. Some reoccurring speakers include Ian Freeman, Mark Edge, Angel Clark, Ernest Hancock, Adam Kokesh, Stefan Molyneux, Chris Lawless, John Bush, Mark Warden and Carla Gericke. Will these frequent speakers return this year? Will Alex Jones attend again this year? Will Gary Johnson come back?

PorcFest is an awesome event. If you have never been before, get it together and make the trip up, this year is going to be a killer all-out 10th Anniversary event!

Oh my goodness. I was told another famous Austrian economist is also speaking at Porcfest. This is getting a little ridiculous. Lancaster, New Hampshire is a small town and Roger's Campground is a campground. This is not the Ludwig von Mises Institute in Auburn, Alabama.

Some questions.

Are yall accepting of libertarian leaning conservatives like myself who are not an-caps, min-arcs or hard core libertarians?

What is the average cost for this?

Are there any females there or is this a typical libertarian even with a 20 to 1 ratio of men to women? Not that I am trying to get laid but eye candy is nice.

Thanks,

Slutter McGee

slutter all of the early movers who i have met fall between rand and anarchy politic-philosophical scale of. in my experience the vast majority are present or former ron paul supporters

I love it. It will be interesting to see how Lew performs when he lets his hair down.

Pretty much anyone except police and government agents is welcomed at Porcfest. As for the FSP statement of intent, if you join the FSP, here it is. http://freestateproject.org/soi Many classical liberal, libertarian leaning conservatives, an-caps and so on should have no problem signing it. You don't have to join the FSP to attend Porcfest, though.

What is the average cost for this?
There was a $35 special but that is up. A ticket is now $50 to attend the event (kids free). Plus you have to pay for a camping site. I think those are $30ish per night but you can split a site with someone else (or even several people). 2 adults are allowed to share a site at no extra cost. a 3rd and 4th adult may also share that site, but would need to pay the Campground $5 a day. If you don't want to stay at the campground (maybe you want to sleep at a motel in town?) there is a $5 day fee charged by the Campground.

So, for a single person this will likely cost you $50 plus up to $15 or so every night you stay their at a shared tent site. A single person with 2 kids would be the same price since kids are free and they wouldn't cost you any extra in camping. Then there is the transportation costs. There are 5 airports within 3 hours of Lancaster, NH. Well, there is a closer airport in Lebanon, NH but I think it only has planes from NYC and Boston.

Are there any females there or is this a typical libertarian even with a 20 to 1 ratio of men to women? Not that I am trying to get laid but eye candy is nice.
There will be 1,000-1,600 people. Men and women of all ages will be there but most will be under 60. Of the 1,500 or so people that might be there, maybe 1/3ish will be women.

I did. I took the photo. Jordan Page gave a concert, too. And the Agora is great; barter, use silver, whatever.

Dr. Mary Ruwart was a keynote speaker at the 2009 Liberty Forum in Nashua, New Hampshire. Now she is coming back to New Hampshire. She seems to like the state. She endorsed the Free State Project. Dr. Ruwart has endorsed the FSP multiple times, including this endorsement.
"I've heard a lot about it, I think it's a great idea, that's how we can get a concentrated dose of libertarianism in one state, and hopefully make a change in that state. Does the Free State Project have Dr. Mary Ruwart's endorsement? Absolutely!"

IMO, she is the most famous female liberty leader in the country. In case you cannot make it to Porcfest, here is a short interview with her from the 2009 Liberty Forum.

Dr. Mary Ruwart, Author of Healing Our World, Coming to NH Porcupine Freedom Festival
Posted on April 24, 2013 by Keith DeSantis

Dr. Mary J. Ruwart will be at the Free State Project’s 2013 Porcupine Dr. Mary Ruwart Freedom Festival this June in Lancaster, New Hampshire. Dr. Ruwart is a research scientist, ethicist, libertarian writer/activist and author of award winning international bestseller “Healing Our World”. She will have two talks June 19th-20th: “The Future of the Libertarian Movement” and “The ONLY Solution to the Health Care Crisis”. Her books will also be available for purchase at the event.

During a May 17th, 2008 interview on New Hampshire based Free Talk Live, Dr. Mary Ruwart said she is a long time supporter of the Free State Project and officially endorsed it on-air. You can listen to that interview here. She also delivered a lecture titled “The Deadly Secrets Behind Soaring Pharmaceutical Prices” at the 2009 New Hampshire Liberty Forum, available here.

There are no two more qualified scholars to discuss this, imho. I'm looking forward to seeing it. I'm sure there will be a tube, right?
Not sure. About 1/3 of the stuff was filmed and put online from Porcfest 2012 but that is much more than during most years. I haven't heard anything about that crew doing it again this year so likely, almost nothing will be filmed in a very high quality way. Maybe some of the bigger stuff like this, maybe. Your best bet is to attend :)

There is other stuff besides economics.

I saw this on the FSP Facebook page yesterday. It is a little hard to read but you can see it in larger font if you click on the registration link.

We've just added a few special events which require pre-registration. If you're interested, register now! http://www.PorcFest.com/register
