Popular Liberty (Daily Paul) Is shutting down.....again

I've been a member at DP for 8 years and 2 months and it was a great site, but this on and off thing is getting quite annoying so I find myself here. Will you accept me as a refugee? lol

Also ... it appears I made an account here back in 2007 that was forgotten about. That doesn't necessarily bolster my credentials here :D

....seriously, though, try to spread the word that this is a nice place, and we'll be most welcoming of any libertarian refugees.

I'd know, I was myself a DP refugee: I migrated here a few months before DP became PL.

Yeah, that's a bit of a reach. More like, you tried to start an alternative festival on the same weekend when you didn't get your way at Paulfest.


But you always do consider yourself the smartest guy in the room, i'll give you that. And hey, you're making a really really good living off the liberty people, so can't fault you there.

Although....it seems like the only time you ever bothered to contribute to the discussions and conversations were when you smelled a buck.

But that's just my opinion.

7. Had another disaster in early 2013 working as business development manager for the failed "JAGTV" libertarian television network that a SVP of the Dole Fruit Company was trying to launch
8. Help launch this - http://truthinmedia.com/about/ - the biggest success yet, and one that looks like it's going to be around for a very long time!!

I have to say I agree with your first part. I'm not glad to see it go because I've invested alot of my time in posting and carrying on topics only to have Michael trash them (now twice)! I've asked for a way to be able to extract the conversations I've been involved with (could almost make a book out of them) and many others have agreed with me. No deal. I've asked if anyone knows of a way to capture my own posts with a site capture program like HTT copier but I've never found a way to crawl down the right webs to get them. When he shut down the DP I posted how I support him because it's "his" property and how he certainly has the right to do so. This time I'm angry because he really has no excuse this time. Last time he wanted to "cut" the Paul connection mainly because he does not seem to support Rand and didn't want his site to be connected in that manner to someone he doesn't really support. Although I think he was cutting off his nose to spite his face, I gave him my support. This time I'm thinking that he has some issues that he really needs to address for his own good. It's illogical and destructive behaviour and he should just hand the site to someone else.

That you think this about me tells me you really don't know me.

1. Getting kicked out of the Army for supporting Ron Paul cost me the loss of an easy paycheck
2. I worked as volunteer promoting Robin "Mr. Blue Republican" Koerner, he didn't pay me
3. The "Rock the r3volution Tour" was primarily paid for out of my own pocket, we received small donations but they never covered more than gas
4. I helped Adam Kokesh with the "Ron Paul is the Choice of the Troops" march again, as a volunteer
5. The "PaulFest alternative" concert was started and organized by a Keri-Anne Slater after PaulFest fired me and she and others walked away from PaulFest, she tried to attach my name to her event but I really wasn't interested in festivals at all at that point - and I never received a penny from PaulFest. Get my way? All I wanted was for the event to be a success rather than the disaster it was.
6. Again, I worked as a volunteer for Free and Equal and never received a salary
7. ditto for JAG TV, I worked as a volunteer
8. With - http://truthinmedia.com/about/ - I worked the first 6 months for completely free and for the past two years I've only drawn enough to cover basic business expenses. And you think I think I'm the smartest guy in the room? Hardly, I even refer to myself as "Forrest Gump" - and I have been helping to build a team of people much smarter than myself around Ben Swann.

I liberty full time forever because I can, not for the money. And I'm offended that you think I do. I don't "do liberty" for a paycheck, (Curt Schultz of the Ron Paul "Super Brochure" paid me all of $500, but again, that primarily covered my own expenses) I come from a family of entrepreneurs, and I couldn't do what I do without their guidance and support, and the financial decisions I made in my 20's and 30's.

Hello RTF Bunny. We had a great thing going while it lasted. I too am a fellow refugee, and also found an old account here as well. I look forward to see where our comrades land.

I agree, the last few days were surreal. For 4 years the site was like home for me. The news presented and commentary posted was amazing. The vast library of content was probably one of the the greatest collections of free thinking, liberty library ever collected.

Shutting down the site was illogical and destructive. It's comparable to book burning. I actually feel good about being banned for questioning the decision shut it down.

You got banned for that? I got banned for questioning the Superbrochure back in 2011. The guy was a whacko who ran the site like a dictatorship.

If they've been banned from one site, maybe that's a red flag. How about we keep them in a camp in one of the unpopular forums and watch their progress until we can check if they are OK are not. Can we put an asterisk next to their name so we can identify the refugees?

Just to be safe...

I just checked Popular Liberty and Dailypaul.

They are both down (gone)

Michael Nystrom is a total asshole.
