Romney made a deal with the Pauls in 2012. Ron played nice and Rand endorsed in exchange for access to his donor base in 2016.

It is true. Several potential Republican candidates spent time meeting with some of Romney's big campaign donors. The donors are feeling out the candidates. It's great that they agreed to meet with Paul, though as far as everyone knows, it was just a meeting. Was it more productive than the meeting the neocon candidates had with the donors? We don't know.
