Just curious to see your thoughts on this. Personally, I think we should handle it. Especially since we came up with the idea. For HQ to take over flys in the face of one of Ron Paul's dictums which is to leave the people alone, no government interference. And isn't HQ sort of a microcosm of RPs administration?

Your thoughts?

Grass roots is already going to be done with breaking down a list of 75 potential keynote speakers to 5 within the next 2 days of voting... http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=119962

also, we have 9 speakers from this forum who are ready to go... additionally, Ron Paul should be an INVITED KEYNOTE SPEAKER, not the point man, or else it will be bound by finance laws and stuff like that... we can raise the money over a period of months.... additionally, we've got people working on permits for fireworks displays, missing man flyovers, musicians are already getting booked, etc... frankly, all we need to do is get the Paul's some plane tickets.

Grassroots.

I hate to be negative about HQ because it feels like I'm questioning Dr. Paul's judgement, but I can't recall any posts here about what a great job HQ did with something. Everything amazing and exciting and wonderful so far has been done by grassroots volunteers.

The only thing I see as a potential problem is if multiple groups of grassroots organizers are working independently of each other. I hope that whatever different groups are out there will get together and form a coalition so that there won't be any wasted effort.

Grassroots for the simple and basic purpose that this is at the heart of the message whether it be Ron Paul or someone else.

This is the American people telling the government we've had enough. This is our government and we determine its direction. Not Washington.

We've had enough of the Main Stream Media. We've had enough of the Patriot Act. We've had enough of this Welfare State. We've had enough of Washington and their lies and propoganda doing what they feel is in our best interests instead of asking US what is in our best interests. We've had enough! This HAS to be a grassroots effort and nothing speaks of the American mind more than the American people speaking up for themselves for once.

Stop hiding behind Ron Paul and expecting him and his HQ to do something. Do something with the spark that his message has awakened in your heart and go to Washington and tell them what your heart says.

That is the true American message and that is what will ultimatly save this country from rotting from the inside out.

Hear! Hear! Well said.

Ron Paul will be doing his job when he shows up and pretend to be surprised that we pulled this off, that is his only job. Ron Paul will be our invited GUEST KEYNOTE SPEAKER...

if the campaign does this, it is BOUND BY REFORM LAWS... he'd have to pay every penny for some of our ideas that we going to be very expensive. we MUST do this on our own.

Someone will need to lead this event - to get permits, etc. If not RP and HQ then who?

HQ. Ron Paul can't speak at a grassroots organized event.

That, and honestly I would not go to a march full of 9/11 bands.

Go to www.revolutionmarch.com The site is a mess right now, but it is being worked on. Sign up, and you will be in the loop. Permits, etc. are being handled but a lot of volunteer help is needed to pull this off.

The two guys who came up with the site are talk show hosts on Ron Paul radio. Bryan Siemon is the one who came up with the idea while simulcasting a phone conference with Ron Paul. The next day, 2/8/08 they put up the site. HQ released the "Go the distance" clip of Ron Paul endorsing a March on 2/11/08.

A listener to the show/call that night posted a thread in these forums the next day on 2/8/08.

This is the brainchild of the grassroots. It should stay with us. Especially given the history of how HQ handles things.

Who said anything about 9-11 bands???? The organizers of this event are NOT truthers! And who says Ron Paul can't speak at a grassroots event???? Where are you getting your information???

Ron Paul is organizing the event. Personally, I can deal with what he gets me.

Again, where are you getting your information?

Here is how this all came about:

Ron Paul was on a conference call held by Restore the Republic (I believe) on 2/7/08. Ron Paul radio was simulcasting the call. Ray Powell and Bryan Siemon were the talk show hosts at the time. Bryan mentioned having a march that day, and the next day he put up www.revolutionmarch.com

A listener to the program posted the website here on 2/8/08: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=116152

Then, on 2/11/08 HQ posted Ron Paul's "Go the Distance" speech. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryMliyeIDp4

This is a grassroots effort.

Did you listen to the Alex Jones interview? Ron will be looking for the location, Ron will be thinking of the date.

How is he not organizing this?

"One of the projects I have been working on, in my mind and in my head that I want to share with you, because I think we're at this point where we have to do something major ... But there's another thing that I think we ought to do, we ought to make a grand display, we ought to have a true march to show what our numbers are ..."

Way to give you credit, I guess...

I'm not saying that your events didn't happen, just quoting what he said.

I can't explain why he made it sound like he came up with the idea. Maybe he was thinking about it for a long time and when Bryan brought it up to him, it clicked for him. But I've already proven that this originated with the grassroots. I don't know what else you want me to say about it.
