The Cub For Growth and Senate Conservatives Fund-backed candidate, Ben Sasse, has all but closed a 36 point gap from September to become a frontrunner, along woth FreedomWorks-endorsed Shane Osborn.

Sasse, who said "Obamacare is an important first step" in healthcare reform, is riding an undeserved Tea Party tidal wave.

We need to do more to promote Osborn. A moneybomb and more endorsements would help a great deal.

This race is really being ignored by RPF and the liberty community. If we don't start doing something soon, we'll be saying "Senator Sasse".

I'm also troubled by McConnell's backing of Osborne. I think the best thing from all parties would have been to let Osborne run away from it.

Is the consensus that we all should support Osborn because Sasse is a total neo-con or because Osborn is himself a strong liberty guy?

I know Sasse is the establishment's Trojan horse. Osborn seems OK though. He's also a veteran who doesn't seem to be overly hawkish, except when it comes to Iran. I bet Sasse's worse in that regard though.
