5 guys is a chain fast food establishment? Shit I thought it was a local thing here at my school. Best burgers. Tastes like something you cooked up yourself out on the grill.

we have What A Burger.. and its good.. I emailed them and they said they don;t irradiate their meat or vegetables.. so thats good because every place on the poll list does.

Didn't know that about them. They ought to advertise that. Yeah, they aren't bad, though the one closest to me (very close) is a franchisee whose quality varies pretty widely from day to day. The thing I appreciate most about them is you can actually get a whole wheat bun. In fact, if you order the chicken and want it on a white bun, you have to ask for it.

We got tons of Popeyes around here!

Really?

Another fine theory down in flames!

I hate fast food; It's harder to kill and then you have to let the carcass hang in the cooler for days just to get the adrenaline taste to fade.:D

Is it Popeye's or Churchs's that only has black people in their commercials? I can't remember.

church's

and im glad you put white castle on there, we don't have any more around here but i remember krystals from memphis as a kid, and i usually stop at WC if im in St Louis

we still have rodeo burgers around here too

and be careful of "healthy menu options" a mcdonalds chicken salad (the one with almonds and mandarin oranges) has more calories than a big mac :)

Nobody voted for McDonald's?

Is this even America anymore?

Not sure what's up. I voted for them. I really haven't eaten at many of them, but that is because they don't look good. I guess it isn't the cool thing to like anymore. Too mainstream. lol. Seriously though, The Big Mac is the tastiest thing I think I have EVER had. I don't care if it is a quarter of the size of the Whopper, it is still worth much more. YUM!

lol, this silly poll just became ironically relevant to my life.

I voted Arby's in the poll. Today I went to Arby's for the first time in like 3 months. I went through the drive thru. When I was at the window waiting for my food a car pulled up behind me and started beeping at me. I looked in my rear view mirror and saw a girl maniacally flailing her arms and moving her head. Worried she was having a seizure, I stuck my head out my car window to get a better look at her. She then started screaming "Nice sticker!!!!"

Of course she was refering to my Ron Paul for president sticker. :D

Then you went back to her place and dripped Arby's sauce all over her cleavage after tying her up, like in that Saving Silverman movie.

yeah.

Well, I wish I could say Chick Fil-A but they don't exist up here in New England. I have fond memories from my traveling days. Same can be said of White Castle. It's been many, many years since I've had either.

I also really like Wendy's but fast food is supposed to be eaten while driving and quite frankly, eating a baked potato while driving-- even an automatic-- is a little too complicated for me.

So my vote goes to Burger King. I know it's terrible but I can stop with the kids when I'm stressed and on the run and it literally costs us about $6 to eat off the dollar menu-- and that's splurging. Those Whopper Jr's are the best thing you can buy for $1. And their fries are the best. Hands down.

Dude,

You are missing a lot of good fast food on that list.

Jack in the Box for one. Hardee's for another. Whattaburger is totally missing.
Bojangles chicken, Popeye's chicken, not there.

Owell.

A serious omission that marks the OP as a damnyankee, I guarantee! Popeye's is about the best of the chains, imo. Getting a little too expensive these days, though...

It depends on the location. Here in DC I was pleased to see that they had Popeye's. Then I went in and got something. It was gross.

They just don't know what they are doing up here. People up here do not know how to do fried chicken or any kind of southern food. There's even an upscale expensive restaurant that you can go to called Georgia Browns so you can pay out the ass for soul food or something. Good BBQ is also hard to find. There is like one place in the whole area that's worth a damn and it's a bit expensive. And just forget about cajun food.

Pretty much wherever there is a high concentration of black people there is a popeye's chicken. (not racist, its the truth)

Owell.

He should combine Carl's Jr. and Hardee's because they are both the same thing pretty much, though I have only once been to a Hardee's.

My friend's permaculture garden out in Huelo. Coconut cream taro soup with fresh picked salad. Yummm. The service is kind of crappy (we have to harvest the food) everything else rocks.

You're thinking of Churches (how it is here).

There is a popeyes here, and there are hardly no blacks.

To an extent though, you are correct, as most of these chains are found in the south, and census records show that there are higher concentrations of blacks in the south.

And I don't think Five Guys is national. I never heard of it until moving to DC. But they do make a DAMN FINE burger. MMM, dripping with grease. They give it to you in a brown paper bag so you can see the grease stain spreading over the bottom of it. *drool*
