Sen. Rand Paul stopped by The Olmsted in Louisville last Wednesday to address Greater Louisville Inc. members about politics, the upcoming election and his plans for Kentucky and the entire country. (He eats a lot of sushi.) - See video at link.

Sen. Paul will appear on the Daily Show on Wednesday, Oct 3rd. Scroll down to take a poll:

I think I do. For every time I disagree with some political maneuvering he's done, there is another time I see the good result of one of his efforts. At the very least, he is introducing concepts to average Republicans that they before thought were "liberal". I see average Kentucky Republicans using Rand's language all the time. They are picking up the ideas, and suddenly being comfortable with things they were told to disagree with 4 years ago. Again, this is just anecdotal on my part.

sola_fide, out of curiosity, when and how did you become a limited government advocate?

Oh man..."limited government"? Are you baiting me here? lol....joking. Well, I think my first taste of liberty-type ideas was probably Gary North's economic articles...which led to all the standard Austrian works. Around the time I was reading those, Harry Browne was running for president, and he just really got me thinking about things like I never thought about them before...thinking about how liberty ideas could translate politically.

Also, I went to a private Christian college and my economics professor was a contributor to the Mises journal. After taking his courses, I couldnt look back. Then I was in the political wilderness until Ron came along, and then Rand came along, then Thomas Massie came along.

I think most people can sense it was the "obligatory" endorsement though. It's not like Rand is out stumping for Romney, and issuing fund raising letters for him.

Well Rand could have shared the blame in actually electing this guy if he narrowly won and shared blame for the following invasion of Iran.

Likely Rand will get bailed out though since it looks like a mute point.

I approve of it...

I agree about third parties, I'm too young to really remember Ross Perot, but the Bush/Gore/Nader election was the first I was old enough to vote in, and I remember that one well. I remember that year there was also a televised Libertarian debate, and I watched the whole thing in fascination. I started reading online and wanted to become an LP member, until I saw all the anger and backlash over Nader, including the media shenanigans, the hanging chads, etc... and that soured me for a long time.

Rand likes 寿司 lol.

Why do I keep hearing this same questiin? Was anyone paying attention to Dr. Paul in Tampa? We must become the tent.
