2016, eh? I guess this is assuming that Obama wins a re-election and therefore no Republican incumbent.

I think Gary Johnson and Rand Paul could team up and absolutely destroy in 2016 (assuming Paul doesn't get the nomination)

If there is a Republican primary in 2016, wouldn't it be kind of hard to run for re-election and run for president? He would be short on money if he were to lose the Republican nomination...

who cares if its republican or democrat? they share the same ideas, borrow, spend and tax

Doubt it. They'll both get hit with the same type of media Ron is getting hit with...Rand needs wait a bit to see if he can get re-elected first. I have a feeling that he won't.

Why would he need Johnson.

Ron Paul went from 10% in 08' in Iowa to 21.5% in 2012. If Rand got close to 30% in Iowa in four years, he would have the state most likely.

If Rand won 2016, it would be perfect for the near 10th year anniversary of the Ron Paul Revolution.

This is a distraction. The media is trying to make it sound like Ron Paul is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar making his farewell tour at various cities. Come on!!! Ron Paul is very much in this race to win the Presidency and the White House.

No, it would not be Johnson. I think Rand Paul would do the politically shewd thing for VP, and balance his ticket with a figure the GOP mainstream likes.

The people who haven't given up are rare now. Sometimes I feel alone around here. Ron is still running, can still win, and needs our support.

Focus on 2012 please.

yes, yes, and yes.

LOL some people on here are acting ridiculously stupid. We've gone through only 1 state, and we got a top-tier showing, and Santorum is going to wreck within 1-2 weeks. It's already down to Paul vs. Romney. Are people really giving up? lol you guys are funny. I can't wait to see everyone rejuvenated when we get 2nd in NH next week.

It's a distraction, but one containing a good point. The power of Paul/Paul would be a force to be reckoned with. There are obviously a lot of good ideological VP candidates. But no one can come as close to the principles AND match the breadth of mainstream influence that Rand has achieved.

Guess you missed how Johnson did in the GOP primary here in 2012, and how he left the Republican party in a huff to run as a Libertarian. That's a killer for any future GOP run.

Santorum is receiving massive funding right now so don't believe the nonsense that he's over in 2 weeks, he has the potential to become the new Huckabee for the evangelical crowd. Gingrich isn't gone yet either, he's expecting to win big in the South.
