See article excerpt below. It started as cameras to watch traffic. Now look what it's come to. The article mentions that it's already being done in Dallas. This is beyond outrageous.

excerpt:

Austin Police Chief Acevedo wants to put police cameras in key areas
Critics say such systems are too intrusive to public activity.

Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo wants to install security cameras in pedestrian-heavy and crime-ridden areas of the city that would allow officers to monitor activity from afar and conduct "virtual patrols."

DON'T LET THEM DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm from the UK and we have more CCTV cameras here than any other country on the planet.

I think 30% of all the CCTV cameras in existance are in the UK.

YOU MUST RESIST THIS

It's the thin edge of the wedge. Soon, they'll have inspectors entering your homes, cameras filming your refuse bin to check you are recycling, the possibilities are endless

DON'T LET IT HAPPEN

They make sure you recycle? Recycling is B.S.

Anyone who is good with a bb gun or pellet gun could probably take those out from a nearby parking lot... ;)

I know if I ever see any near me, they won't be up for long.

they're already there.

austin is police state central and has been for years...

i've recently moved back (unfortunately) to pursue a decent paying job
and nothing has changed, only progressed.

Alex Jones will have people up in arms over this. The cops won't get a free pass.

They're popping up all over downtown baltimore too. Before anyone responds that Baltimore probably needs them, most of the violence in this city is isolated to the gang owned areas where the commoners never go (unless they live there). Those areas arent the only ones with cameras.

Once you cross the Florida state line, you are in Police State South! They have gone overboard hog shit crazy with all of that Homeland security money, and installed "Intelligent Intersections" at nearly every light! The road crews are a booming llike gangbusters - they rip up perfectly good roadbeds, and dig them up at night - big deep trench all the way across the road with a back hoe - and install these really weird light pole contraptions that are hollow and full of wires inside. They do it all after midnight because that is when there is supposedly no traffic - and by daylight they have it all covered back up again and no one is the wiser. The only reason I know about it is because I had to work late one night and didn't get home until after midnight and I nearly drove my car into one of those trenches. They look like rather ordinary light poles but they are built like a tuning fork - the part that goes across the roadway with the trafffic lights and cameras on it has an equally long metal pole full of wires that is under the pavement directly under the light pole. Very weird stuff!

'Smith!' screamed the shrewish voice from the telescreen. '6079 Smith W.! Yes, you! Bend lower, please! You can do better than that. You're not trying. Lower, please! That's better, comrade. Now stand at ease, the whole squad, and watch me!' ....

I've seen those cameras around downtown baltimore too. Seems like they are installing those damn cameras all around the country.
