New here. Was introduced a while back to Dr. Paul with this

http://youtube.com/watch?v=6b7_h_OyTI0

I registered the domain on godaddy and skipped over the terms
Well they don't allow sites that promote gambling which i'm going to do

So I need to transfer the domain and host on another site...any recs

I am also looking for help with design, as i'm fairly clueless

Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate for poker freedom, as evidenced by his meeting with the Poker Playing Alliance, and stance on internet regulation

Also, the income tax is very unfair to gamblers, especially recreational. You can be a loser you're whole life then hit big and get taxed on that.

I would also like to create a pokerstars avatar that will promote paul and the site, which will promote the relevant RP sites. I play many tables at once and can promote RP non stop.

This is an untapped market, most players don't know about RP's stance on Poker, and the fact that he's the only one in favor of legalization

Would also like to encourage big pros to endorse RP, as it all helps

any help/suggestions

You could set up your site for free at www.ronpaulblogs.com

Then point your domain to there. Saves hosting cost and it is an easy to use blogging system, provided free by one of the posters here.

You'd set the site up as www.poker.ronpaulblogs.com and later point your domain there. I'm sure he'd help you with some of those technical aspects.

poker avatar

I found this graphic on google images - its perfect for that round pokerstars avatar...i just made it mine! and i play a ton so i hope it will get seen a lot and might peak people's interest.

I totally Agree,

There's a TON of people who Gamble. There's like at least 80-100 Thousand people on Pokerstars EVERY second, who know how to use a credit card.

I think this would be great if someone made a Website about this

or if we got some Poker Pros to endorse us

Thanks for the ronpaulblogs suggestion, that looks great.

I'm going use that and route my domain there

Design shouldn't be a problem

I created my own tea party avatar to promote for the next 2 weeks, not sure how to post because its a bitmap, very easy to make

I plan on not staying at tables for long, get the message out and then move on to the next table. This really is a win win situation. I get to win money and get the message out :)

I will provide the content for the site but if anyone would like to write or have suggestions let me know, as i am very open

Like I said, this group of people has real potential. Ron Paul is the only candidate willing to protect Poker Freedom. I think we can get real supporters.

Other supporters should get on and chat with players even if they don't want to play. These people will be VERY sympathetic to our position. Legislation was passed last year to make it much tougher to access play online. It's debateable if online poker is legal currently, but RP is sure to protect it

I should have it up by tomorrow, at least the start anyway

I think getting the endorsement of big players could be key, and they should be on our side

I read somewhere when the nannystate Republicans banned online poker stuff, the industry claimed there were 20 million angry poker players.

I can't encourage you enough on pursuing this. People who feel very strongly about a single issue can often turn the tide politically. Look at what the assault weapon ban did to the Democrats when they passed it early in the Clinton administration. The next election in 1994 was a bloodbath for the Dems, especially in the gun-loving South. It forced a coming realignment of the South to the GOP probably a decade sooner than it would otherwise have happened due to demographics. And that was another liberty and constitutional issue like this one is.

Liberty-lovers, internet folk, poker players all agree on this issue. No regulation.

Once you start the site and get some exposure, I'm sure gambling911.com will want to help too. They've been providing a lot of positive articles on Ron Paul.

Maybe you could organize some poker tournaments or some such as fundraisers for Ron Paul. That would be very cool. Not sure how you'd do it though.

Poker people, unite. Help us rid ourselves of these nannystaters!

Wow, a poker tournament to benefit Ron Paul, what a GREAT idea. I will email pokerstars and fulltilt to try and set this up. Maybe hold it on the 15th to benefit the tea party

I will email the gambling media when the site is up, hopefully tomorrow
Will also try to find pros personal sites and email them

There are thousands of potenial RP supporters ready to hold a live chat

www.pokerstars.com
www.fulltiltpoker.com

I've never used this company so I can't offer a review, but www.nearlyfreespeech.net supposedly hosts anything as long as the content isn't illegal.

I use nearlyfreespeech.net, and they rock - I would recommend them to anyone. Every penny you pay is fair and justified. You don't pay for what you don't use. Great host.

It was just a thought. My brother is the poker guy in my family.

I know some of the poker sites and gambling911.com have been so positive to our campaign, there just have to be others wanting to do events like this to get the poker folk on board. And I see poker tournaments on HDNet so I know there's an audience for pro poker and for the online poker people.

Poker for Paul is a great idea. If we could get both online and live tournaments for Paul, that would really stir up some attention

Thx, good idea, gonna use it :)

They changed my pic the next day, normally it takes longer so I guess someone at pokerstars likes Ron Paul

Haha, mine too.
I hate the table view with images, but I guess I'll have to learn how to live with it, so I can watch out for other RPs.

Yup, I was one of 'em. For me it was worse because I was one of the pioneers of online poker software and built a business from it (I created "Poker Pal" way before the whole poker explosion thing on TV and had my hand in "Hold'em Hawk" and "PokerEDGE" and some other stuff). I made the decision to get out of the business once that law (sneakily) passed and my (now "ex") parters bought my share of the biz.

Last week I visited with them for the first time in a year. When I was leaving they saw the Ron Paul bumper sticker on my car. I told them I had assumed they'd be vehement supporters of RP but was literally shocked when they told me they'd hardly heard of him - and these guys still make their living 100% from online poker related stuff!!

Great idea to set up tournaments. I'd be in. But strictly speaking, is using gambling winning for political contributions, legal?

Hey whats the status of this? I thought it was a great idea...i personally was extremely pissed off when the so called "port security bill" was passed and tried to take away one America's favorite past times. At least make the domain with an embedded video of that Dr. Paul speech to congress about the rediculousness of what they were doing. Thats all you really have to do - you're not promoting gambling...
