Poison Oak cure

Old miner told us this and it WORKS.
Take two teaspoons of cream of tarter in a glass of water. Must take it as soon as it appears or won't work. We all saved some awful agony using this.

That you would want to wash off ASAP with soap.. Wash all your clothes that might have any on it, the steering wheel in your car, armrests in your car, on your computer chair, door handles even. Anything you can think of, wash it off. That is, if you have a really bad case and are trying to prevent it from spreading.

I will have to remember this one, I get poison oak REALLY bad sometimes.. I like to trudge through the brush sometimes.

Yeah Danno , always jump in the shower and throw the clothes in the washer , makes me feel better anyway ...

[QI did say you are suppose to drink it. Also if the blisters start it won't work. When you see the tiny rash and the itching drink it, Take some with you when you walk around.

Interesting tip, never heard of it. Might be helpful to take some in advance of hitting the woods, pre-emptively. And good suggestions on washing everything you may have touched. My brother got a poison ivy rash in the middle of winter once. He got it from his tacklebox which must have had some oil on it from the prior summer.

If you eat raw honey from areas with heavy populations of poison ivy or oak this will provide some resistance to the allergy. Poison ivy flowers like crazy and bees love the pollen.
