Pledge to call your Representative on Monday, July 23 for Audit The Fed

I called Larry Bucshcon (IN-8, current district) and was told he will be IN SESSION and VOTE FOR H.R. 459 :D

Bumpity bump, this is it ! This is the kind of thing that will show the size of our support for liberty !

I had time to call Rep. Boehner's office, the person who answered took my call, said he would pass it along, and that he has gotten a lot of calls about HR 459 today. :)

That's great! So glad FreedomWorks is helping us out as well!

Just called mine.

Literally takes 2 minutes to just calmly state your case and why your rep should vote for the audit.

Ok, I admit it. I am nervous. Anyone have a walkthrough of how this call goes, my first time. Any recommended script?

I hate talking on the phone and get nervous too. It's super easy! I wrote down what I wanted to say so I wouldn't be as nervous. I just called and told them my name, that I was in Rep. blah blah's district and I would like for him to support HR 459 tomorrow.

No reason to be nervous, they are just people on the other end of the call, not gods.
They won't talk much, they are there to be listeners. You call and they will listen and make note of what you say.

Hi, I'm xxxxx, and I want Mr. yyyy to support and vote for H.R. 459, "Audit the Fed" when the vote comes up this week.
Will he be in session this week?
Is he supporting H.R. 459?

You may not get all said, if he already supports it they will just say "Yes, he supports it and plans on voting for it".

Otherwise, you will need to stress that it is important for the Federal Reserve to have FULL oversight by the representatives of the people. They, the FED, have devalued our currency to the point that it is only worth 1/10th of what it was when they were given responsibity, etc.... (you might mention foreign bank and gov involvement).

Not much to it. Just be yourself and let them know what you want.

My calls have gone like this:

Hi, I would like to urge the Congressman to support a piece of legislation that's scheduled to be voted on this week.

The staff will then ask what bill it is. I'll say HR 459, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act.

The staff will then ask for my name and possibly an address (some have and some haven't). Then they'll say they'll pass along the message. That's it.

Sometimes I've thrown in little facts like the bill has 271 bipartisan cosponsors or if I know the Congressman cosponsored HR 1207 in last Congress but hasn't cosponsored HR 459, I'll bring that up too.

I said something like this:

Yes, my name is Kyle P-----, I was calling to ask Rep. (Fill in) to ask him to support and co-sponsor H.R. 459 which is the Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2011.
It's coming up for a vote on the house floor tomorrow, and I'd appreciate it if you'd remind Him (or her) to vote yes.

They might ask for your address, which I give to them to confirm I live in the right district.
Thank them for taking your call.... and that's it!!

I thought about doing this for someone who hasn't co-sponsored yet.

I guess I talk a little more like I'm the boss and the rep works for me.....but you don't have to. (not bossy, but to the point of what I want).

So, are people more inclined to give a rep hell online for how they voted moreso than to call them and tell them how you want them to vote?

I called and asked the screener what way the Congressperson is voting on this bill and she said he was still open to suggestions. Then I told her that I encourage the guy to vote in favor of HR 459, Audit the Fed and gave my contact info. No talking points needed, the sheer volume of calls or lack thereof will usually decide their vote if they're currently neutral. No sweat
